Revenge demands sacrifice. Don’t miss this action-packed, jaw-dropping, dark and romantic sequel to Dire Bound.

CROWNED BY DESTINY. CONSUMED BY VENGEANCE.

Against all odds, Meryn Cooper has inherited the crown—and a deadly war. As the Kingdom of Nocturna splinters under the weight of generations of lies, it is up to Meryn, her bonded direwolf Anassa, and their allies to bring the country back from the brink.

But the commoners, the Bonded, and the nobles are distrustful of their new queen and Meryn is caught in a deadly game of politics. Meanwhile, Meryn’s beloved younger sister, Saela, is more at risk than ever.

Confusingly, the one person Meryn can trust is Stark Therion—the dark, dangerous Alpha she thought hated her as much as she loathed him. Yet, his loyalty is unshakeable. His presence is intoxicating. And with his guidance, Meryn can seize an unthinkable level of power.

With enemies closing in and shadows stirring in her dreams, Meryn stands to lose her kingdom—and her heart.

Blood will spill. Bonds will break. Fate will be tested.

One of my favorite ways to do a fantasy book is to immersive read. I was able to do this one this book and I enjoyed it so much. These narrators did such a great job bringing this story to life and making us feel we are in the story!

This book was so fast paced and action packed and picked up right where we left off in Dire Bound! When I have friends who are telling about their current read of Dire Bound, I just kept thinking to myself... SO MUCH HAPPENS. This book was just full of VIBES.

The connection between Meryn and Stark....FIRE. Their spicy scenes...HOT. I just love the "who hurt you moment" from the MMC. But let me tell you, when Meryn says "Who did this to you?" "Give me a name and I'll erase it from the earth"......I was SAT!

This is how you do a book 2!

I like the world and the characters. The plot, magic, and characters got a little messy at times and I started to have a hard time identifying them. Fantastic narrators! I absolutely loved the intimate bond between the main characters. :-)

Good story but a little messy

I was really excited about Fury Bound. Dire Bound was one of my top reads last year, and this sequel definitely gave me some of the same stressful, emotionally charged energy. It starts strong and keeps throwing emotional punches the entire way through.

That said, I couldn’t rate it as highly as Dire Bound. The buildup to the ending was great, but then the major battle wrapped up so quickly it almost felt too easy after all the preparation and sacrifice leading up to it.

I’m also still undecided on the plot twist at the very end. At times it felt like the book was trying to cram in as many twists as possible, and I’m not sure they all made sense. I’ll have to dissect those decisions more during re-read before the final books releases.

The last half of the book had a lot going on and I really enjoyed where the story was going, but considering there’s still one more book to go, I was a little disappointed with how Stark and Meryn’s relationship developed. The tension and apprehension at the beginning gave me such satisfying frustration, but somewhere along the way it lost some of that spark and ended up feeling flatter than I expected.

Overall, it’s still a fun and addictive read, but unfortunately it didn’t hit the same masterpiece level that Dire Bound did for me.

A stressful and emotionally-charged sequel

I couldn’t put this book down once I started it but then about 2/3 of the way through? It got… slow? Boring? A little predictable for me. I’m hoping it’s just a “me” problem. I thought this would be a 5 star read

First 2/3 was amazing
