I read this about 15 years ago and even though it's like 1000 pages long I couldn't put it down. Michener develops characters so completely you can't help but get sucked in to find out what happens to them. This audiobook is a really good narration of the book and really brings it to life. 5 stars.

I loved this book when I read it at least 30 ago and savored every word as I listen to it now. I’m going to recommend it to my sons and I’m sure they will love it too.

Listening is as good as reading!

Great book - love connecting to history through stories of PEOPLE: families, affairs, neighbors. There are a couple spots with noticeably poor sound quality that took me out of the book a little (like 2 out of 925 chapters!), but overall great.
