My name is Bexley Adams, but most people call me Karma.
I control the streets, where my name is whispered with hope and horror. I am the enforcer of justice, the blade in the night, and, well, I have fun doing it—until I accidentally catch the attention of the three kings of the city.
Each of the three Sai brothers is more dangerous than the last, and right now, their gazes are locked on me.
They claim to want my help, offering me a contract, but they must be dumber than they look if they think I can't see the trap waiting for me.
There is a saying, "Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer," but I couldn't get much closer than this. I'm in their house, their beds, and their minds, and before long, these three kings will bow to me.
They thought the three Sai brothers were insane—wait until they meet me.
I'm about to be their Karma.
Narrated in duet style.

as a side note: I read a lot and enjoy listening to the audible as I read. Duet narrations have really upped my enjoyment factor. Wish audible had a spec in the title page that would list the narration style: duet, dual, other. It really does help determine which books I download.

Sure, there were 3 mafia guys and a love story but it wasn't as dark as I'm used to reading.
The FMC being bad ass wasn't something new, but it was how she was written that urked me. I don't really know the correct term or word to describe her but its her personality, behavior, and additude that got on my nerves. I've seen this type of character before in movies, tv shows, and now said book and I've never really liked it. So there were many times I almost DNF this book. Besides her personality being irritating, the fight scenes were comical so much so that I was rolling my eyes during every one of them. If you have ever seen a Jackie Chang movie before, it was written exactly like that. (If you haven't, find a fight scene to watch of him on YouTube from any movie he's been in in the 90's).
Apart from all that, the story was just too slow for me. Nothing good happened between any of them for the first 3 hrs of the book and even those scenes were written lack luster. (2.5 🌶 for writing and how many times).
I will say that even though it was more comedy then dark romance, there are a few scenes written that are disturbing and anyone with issues with kidnapping/held captive inside cages of young women, snuff movies, torturing in great detail of MMC, and towards the very end, there is a sick torturing done to a man that was doing wrong things to children. It's not so much what's written of him that's gross but what is said that he did to these kids that was really off putting. Just warning you.
As for the narrators, I'm new to the female. She did an amazing job reading for Karma. All her sass and "i don't give a fuck" additude was perfection! I'm not a big fan of Tor Thom unfortunately. Every book he's ever read for, his voice sounds like a very bored monotone robot.
What in the heck did I just listen to?
