A little boy is found hiding in a cupboard after his mother is killed. Texas Ranger Taylor has to protect him and his aunt from the killer. There are a number of twists and turns that lead to a conclusion. But the real twist is how two damaged people find their way to each other.

This is a gripping story!

Liked the story. However, this narrator remains allergic to the "a" vowel. Cannot bring herself to pronounce the a in last, fast, or family. She defaults to a short "o" vowel sound. She is the only narrator who rhymes family with "homily." I would prefer not to have to listen to her.
