Christmas Eve in River Bend. Peace on earth — if you can find it.
Psychic Gabby McAllister is looking forward to exactly one thing this holiday season — a quiet Christmas with her family, a little warmth from Lucas Hartley, and absolutely no murders. She has earned this. She has more than earned this.
River Bend has other plans.
A wrecked car abandoned on a snowy roadside. Two children missing without a trace. And a case that starts as a tragic accident and spirals with terrifying speed into something far darker — something urgent, something desperate, something that cannot wait until after the holidays.
Gabby's visions pull her straight into the heart of it. With her fiercely loyal Grandma Dot at her side and the clock ticking louder with every hour that passes, she has to piece together the clues before the trail goes as cold as the December air closing in around them.
The snow is falling. The night is coming. And somewhere out there two children are running out of time.
Christmas may be the season of miracles. But in River Bend it is also the season of secrets. And some secrets are desperate to stay buried — even on Christmas Eve.
Book 4 of 8 in the bestselling Messages of Murder series. A perfect standalone holiday mystery — and an essential chapter in Gabby's ongoing story.

The storyline was good. Thankfully it was a short book, because the AI was hard to listen to. Constructive advice: No more AI until it is significantly improved! I won’t listen to another.

I love this series and have been following it up till now. The AI reading sucks! Why would they even do this? The tone of voice is so inappropriate most of the time. It will be a serious moment of life or death and it will read it out like it’s a happy thing. Cannot distinguish between the different characters’ dialogue. It just blows my mind that audible would even think using AI to read was appropriate. It ruins the story.

Why AI?

This is the first and last AI voiced book I will Ever listen to. Couldn’t even finish listening. I like the author and listened to her first 3 books - great! This one - yuk!
