This title uses virtual voice narration

Virtual voice is computer-generated narration for audiobooks.
A reluctant psychic with a haunted past. A straight-laced FBI agent sworn to protect. A mystery they must solve together.

Hailey Arquette uses ancestry rooted in the occult to hide her gifts in the small southern town of Hamchet, Texas. Experiencing a victim’s last moments when touching an object isn’t something she can turn off, but helps her to navigate the shadowy world where betrayal walks hand in hand with a smile.

A threat against family forces Agent Trenton Briner back to Texas and into a mystery steeped in whispers of Vodou and magic. At each turn, he finds the raven-haired woman who has haunted his dreams.

As Hailey and Trenton join forces to solve the murder of a teenage girl, their chemistry simmers in the background but can’t be ignored.

When an unknown entity saves Hailey’s life, she discovers she’s not the only one holding secrets and is willing to risk everything to learn the truth.

Perfect in Death is the first book of a bone-chilling supernatural mystery series with lovable characters, a wolf dog, and a slow-burn romance.

Other virtual voice books have been good but with this one it is hard to tell who is speaking.

Narration makes it difficult

The story was intriguing, but the computer voice detracted from enjoying the story and feeling the emotions in the writing.

Great story, monotones boring

The AI use is horrible. No emotion. It’s just ruins story and I didn’t finish the book because of it.

Perfect death

The story line was half interesting and this would make an OK series. But the “Virtual Voice” made following along almost unbearable. The voice is humanoid but with misplaced inflections, pauses that serve no purpose, and no voice alteration for the different character. So unless the text states “Trenton said,” there’s no telling which character is speaking.

I won’t continue this audio series, but I also will pay more attention to avoid any audio title claiming “Virtual Voices” for narration.

Worst (robotic) narration ever
