I absolutely devoured this. I loved this story and all the characters so much! IMO it was super unique with the witch’s magic systems and crazy dark creatures. The detail in Cassandra’s writing was amazing! I sometimes struggle with dual narration but these narrators did fantastic! I NEED book two immediately!

This book was just such a wonderful surprise. The writing, the narators, it was just so well done. the chemistry between the fmc and mmc was so good. I loved this. I can't wait to listen to the second book.

A battle of witches, mage’s and the humans in their way. Dark magic flows in them all and they have different agendas. Can they get over a past tragedy that left them both ignorant to the truth to work together and find out where this dangerous new threat is wreaking havoc across the lands? So much hurt, feelings of betrayal and built up anger flows between the FMC and MMC.
Neither willing to give in to their deep down truth. Until one wants to try and make the other understand exactly what happened many years ago that started this hatred to begin with…

OMG. I didn't think it was possible to love this book even more than I already did, but with Cassandra's writing and the amazing work of these narrators, this book was brought to life in a way I didn't even know was possible.

The female narrator did an incredible job of capturing Millicent's attitude and hidden vulnerabilities, while also somehow bringing so much life to Ollie and the other characters. I was actually giddy hearing Ollie for the first time. I love that little imp so much, I might actually never recover if anything happens to him in the books to come.

And then the male narrator... I was absolutely blown away by how well Cage's character was captured. It was pretty much exactly how I thought he would be in my head when I read this through the first time. His unapologetic attitude comes through so well, and the banter and spicy scenes with Millicent had me floored. It was just perfect. And on top of that, when chapter 43 rolled around, it had my jaw on the floor. I can't believe the skill and heart behind the voices in this audiobook, and you can guarantee I will be grabbing up the audio for the next books as well.

These characters live rent-free in my head, and I couldn't be happier to have their voices in there now too lol

I loved the book but listening to the audiobook has made me love it more. It’s now my go to audiobook if I am ever in a reading slump. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Narrators were amazing!
