Mated is book two in a new paranormal romance series by best-selling author Bella Lore, whose series My True Mate and The Alpha’s Mate have over 500 five-star reviews.

When her father suddenly dies, Winter Grace, 17, is forced to fly across the country and attend a mysterious prep school, an ancient castle in a fog-covered island on the coast of Maine. Nothing here is what it seems, and it isn’t long before Winter, feeling a surging power for the first time, realizes that she is not who—or what—she thinks she is.

But when Winter feels an inexplicable crush for an elusive and dangerous boy at the school, she realizes a greater destiny is at play. She knows the relationship might destroy them both—yet she also knows that they can never be apart.

In Mated, Winter and her crush embark on a dangerous quest to retrieve the magic relic and save their friends their school. Yet, they have no idea of the fate awaiting them—or what they will need to do for each other to survive.

Creating an unforgettable world of vampires, werewolves, shifters, and magic of all sorts, the Mortal series will take you to a place rife with shocking twists and turns. Fans of books such as Vampire Academy, Twilight, and Crush are sure to fall in love!

The plotline is intriguing, a little too immature at times, but overall interesting. I can see the inspiration coming from places like Twilight and the Vampire Diaries, possibly even Harry Potter and a touch of Halloween Town.
The girl narrating the story is the WORST I have heard in a long time. She repeats a number of sentences, mispronounces so many, many words that I would think are basic to mid level, like Nova Scotia and the name Igor. It's honestly infuriating to hear her butcher so many words that are so common. I don't think there was ANY proofing after she recorded, there can't have been with how many times she butchers words.
She needs to be fired and educated. Sorry, not sorry.

Interesting plot, HORRID narration

Disliked Narrator’s pronunciation of words. It was a distraction to the story. This is a great storyline and series, but wasn’t the right narrator
