Kendra
Moving into my dad’s house at age 32 because my roommate scammed me out of my rent…not exactly what I’d call winning at life.
So on my drive to Colorado, I decide I need one more night of freedom, and the cute motel on the side of the road is the perfect place to stop. Bonus that it has a bar.
Extra bonus when I spot him sitting at the end of the bar.
The super hot silver fox, with biceps testing the limits of his flannel.
I debate between sitting alone or being bold. But when I catch him watching me, like I’m watching him, bold wins.
He’s charming and sweet, and I can practically feel the chemistry crackling between us.
And when I give him my room key…he uses it.
But we both know this is just for one night. That we’ll never see each other again.
Until a week later.
When he shows up at my house.
Because he’s my dad’s best friend.

I stare at her.
The woman I worried I’d never see again.
And relief wars with guilt inside my chest. Because she, the girl of my dreams, is my best friend’s daughter.
And I know I’m screwed.
Because I shouldn’t touch her.
Not ever again.
But…I know I’m going to.
Soon.

I am a Huge fan of SJ Tilly, having read all of her books...and I was nervous about this age gap daddy romance. It did not disappoint at all. With the youngest in the gap being mid 30s, it all fell into ' SJT-verse' perfectly. Grab your earbuds, cook a pan of brownies & be ready for the best read of 2 narrators in perfect sync of book 2 of this series!

Mountain yes please, I need more!

I love how relatable the characters are! The fact they are older and use common sense even if they have dumb moments like every normal person lol! SJ Tilly you are so freaking fantastic! Thank you!

Love It!

These aren't tropes that I go for, but I will read anything by SJ nevertheless. I adore how she crafts a story and how you get the small, quick switches between characters at those pivotal moments. I really enjoyed these two and their story. It was sweet even with its forbidden nature and was very low drama considering the tropes that could have made things very, very dramatic. I suggest it if you enjoy these tropes and think you should try it even if you don't because SJ can make your enjoy just about anything.

Enjoyable story

I had already read this book, and LOVED it so much that I needed to listen to Connor and Erin bring it to life. They really knocked the performance out of the park with this one.

You'll love it if you love:
-Dad's Best Friend
-Age Gap
-Refinding yourself
-Small town

Connor and Erin are a power duo!

Oh Mountain Daddy! We could all use a bit of you in our lives.

SJ Tilly delivers again, exactly what she promises she will. A broody, sexy, silver fox, who isn't afraid of a little kinky romp with a younger woman. Only to discover it's his best friend's daughter. One he's heard so much about but didn't realize she was coming through his Inn. Things get complicated real fast.

This book really had all the vibes and coziness that you are expecting. Men in flannel and cute little foxes, it was a delight in that regard. There was also so much talk of baked goods and pancakes that I found myself having a cupcake while reading. Haha!

The only thing that held this one back for me was the 3rd act. Now I know, people often complain about that. I'm not even talking about miscommunication. In this novel, it did seem like a scenario that could happen and they DO have a pretty big age gap, so it seemed legit. No, for me, the issue was the "secret" of it all. Like.... why were we doing that? She's a grown-ass woman, by a long mile, and her dad is a pretty understanding guy. I was rolling my eyes and it made these two mature adults seem like teenagers and it wasn't necessary.

Overall, this was just what I expected and I enjoyed it more than not. As always, I think that an audio is the way to go for a book by SJ Tilly and this one was narrated in Duet Style by Connor Crais and Samantha Brentmoor.

P.S. It was also still waaayyy too long. haha! I had to say it. 500 pages was not needed.

It's all in the title!
