When Kiera walked her new friend Sid to her car, the LAST thing she expected to find was local football hero Brock Jammer slumped over a patio table behind the train depot! Needless to say, Kiera’s handler in the witness protection program was somewhat less than pleased … so much for keeping a low profile Kiera! I was in listening heaven as Kiera, Sid, Ray, and friends old and new got down to business searching for answers in “Murder and the Brickyard”! Was Brock up to his eyeballs in an old robbery come home to roost … or maybe he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time … OR are there other much more nefarious ne’er-do-wells out and about? I know NOW, but I’m not telling! I WILL tell you that this well thought out, beautifully detailed plot kept me on tenterhooks right up until the perfectly timed, perfectly executed final reveal! I’ll also tell you that both the story AND its beautifully original, charmingly UNIQUE characters are brought truly ALIVE by stunningly emotive narration! What a joy it was to experience this story exactly as I’m sure our author intended! I absolutely loved “ Murder in the Brickyard” and I can’t wait for the next book in the series! Five fabulous stars!

This was bit sad and senseless due to evil greed. But whose greed?? There are several suspects, but it takes the elusive wanderer, and amateur sleuth Kiera to close in on the details others have missed. It's just like local cops to warn Kiera off, because she was miles ahead of the slow cops in solving the crime. Lol. See how it all goes down. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a splendid job bringing the characters and story to life.

Murder and the Brickyard is the 3rd in the Taco Truck Mysteries by Dennis Shock. Kiera, still in the Witness Protection Program, is now in a small town in Georgia and preparing to get a new taco truck. Meanwhile, she meets Sid, a woman new to town. They become fast friends because how can you find a dead body together and not bond?! Kiera and Sid, with her FBI contacts, decide to investigate the local football star’s death together. I enjoy the characters ability to adapt and growth through the series. Glad she got the new food truck built and maybe not just her dog for company. The narration is excellent.

Kiera is settling into her new home in Thomson, Georgia. She is working towards getting her new taco truck up and running. She's joined a bookclub and made some new friends including Sid who has just moved to town to start her new job with the FBI. When they discover the body of Brock Jammer the two of them decide to do a little investigating of their own since they found him. The police think his death was an accidental overdose, but they don't believe it since the drug he overdosed with was not a drug he was prescribed.
Loved the new friendship between Kiera and Sid. Another great book in the series.

Murder and the Brickyard by Dennis Shock is a cozy small town murder mystery. Jeff Moon did an incredible job with the narration. The story is entertaining, interesting, witty, cozy, enjoyable, engaging, funny, and more. Murder and the Brickyard is the third book in Taco Truck Mysteries series.
