Named One of the Best Horror Books of the Year by the New York Times, Esquire, NPR, and Paste!

It's about to get very dark.

Bram Stoker Award-winning author Laird Barron returns to the dark and dreadful with his fifth horror collection, which weaves sixteen weird tales into a mosaic of the bloody and the macabre.

Bring a flashlight and a book of matches.

Where we're going, there's not a speck of light.

Such a wonderful, weird and amazingly creative collection. Has hints of Swift to Chase, and connecting stories from previous novels really brings a smile to your face. Another Laird Barron masterpiece.

What a DELIGHT.

Fantastic writing, excellent story telling, surreal fever dreams at times, grity realism at others.

The female narrator is flawless. The male is very good.

Excellent, dark, surprising, and at times, utterly weird and surreal.

This was a type of horror book that really focused on more of the sci-fi and how the world could become a worse place. Most of the stories took place in Alaska. It was interesting, but if I would’ve known how all the little books in this collection, we’re going to go. I probably would not have bought it

Kind of spooky but not what I expected

I thought the stories were really lame, there’s not much horror going on and they’re really long. I was disappointed.

I love anthologies but did not enjoy this.
