Derek Alexander is a retired Marine, ex-cop, and the top investigator in his field. Melissa Jones is a small-town girl trying to escape her troubled past.

When the two intersect in a bar in Arizona, their sexual chemistry is off the charts. But what is revealed during their "one-week stand" only complicates matters.

Because she'll do everything in her power to get away from the past, but he'll do everything he can to hold her.

(A steamy, fling-to-forever military romance with a touch of suspense. No cheating. No cliffhanger.)

"Hot! Fun! Enjoyable! 5 stars!!! I highly recommend this story and can't wait to read more from Tia Louise!" (Aleatha Romig, New York Times and USA Today best-selling author)

I started reading Tia Louise a few years back and have always enjoyed the stories she writes. This one like the others was really good and engaging. It definitely keeps you on edge.
The characters and story will keep you entertained. Derek and Melissa have so much chemistry. I really enjoyed this week long romance that turned into more.

This audio is narrated by Lucy Rivers and Christian Fox in dual. Lucy does most of the book since most of this story is in Melissa's POV. She has a great voice and I liked listening to this story. Christian is really good, even doing a few chapters. I liked both of these narrators for this couple.

I will have to get to the rest of this series. I am invested now with these characters.

I Enjoyed This One

I liked another of this authors books so I think this just wasn’t my type of book. Things I didn’t care for:

the male narration is only for the epilogue

It was very dramatic. Reminded me of over the top soap opera dialog.

Female lead was pretty weak - this is a personal preference. I can’t get into books where the woman doesn’t have enough grit/fight in her.

Not for me
