One family’s saga had only just begun....

In the epic sequel to Cavalcade we find out what happens to the Herriots once they arrive in Oregon and take up their claim. Erin and Molly have arrived in Oregon with their family. Granted 640 acres of land for married couples under the Organic Laws of Oregon, they have to build their home, farm, and eke out a living from the raw land. Wolves, bears, and wildcats are the least of their worries in this new land. Hard work and trust in each other to do their very best are the keys to conquering the wilderness as they pioneer their lives on the high plains of Oregon! Come along as they and their family live a life that few attempted in this wilderness near the Blue Mountains of Oregon.

Part of the fantastic set of prequels to Vetted and Vetted Further!

PIONEERING

This book felt like stepping into a time machine, meeting women from a different era and growing to care about them, their lives and the people whom they affected so profoundly.

I waited for Pioneering with bated breath because I loved Cavalcade and I was not disappointed! I loved that this started off right where Cavalcade left off as if the first sentence was just the next chapter. This is a continuation of the lifelong love story of Molly and Erin. It takes you through the next stage of their life once they have their homestead and continues until after their death. The end of the book gives you nice closure of their and their children's lives. I very much enjoyed it and didn't want to put it down. It was well written and the descriptions of the events and activities in their lives were nicely done. I highly recommend this book. This was only my second audiobook and it was as good as the first - Cavalcade by the same author. I loved listening to the sensuous voice reading to me. It also allowed me to enjoy this book while I was doing other things. I did not want this book to end and can't wait to listen to the next book in the series!

I really enjoyed listening to this book!

This had to be one of the best I’ve listened to. The end was bittersweet and I loved how it came full circle to Erin and Molly. I’ll always think of them as young! I was surprised to be riveted to their daily lives and how they worked their “Farm” and a great conclusion and a stepping stone to Fiona’s story in the next series! I loved Timmy and how he became as a man. Amy Deuchler did a great job narrating this book.

A Great

Picking up just where cavalcade leaves off this is an excellent story of Oregon settlers and their journey through life. The narration is great and the story leaves little to be desired. It’s a great listen worth the time for sure.

Such an interesting listen
