Life is good for Dashiell Dawson Dane (just Dash). Things with his boyfriend, Bobby, are better than ever. Teaching at a local college has provided routine and stability. Bravo to you, Gregory Ashe! I came to the Last Picks from the Hazardverse, a decidedly grittier and more emotionally fraught world. I’m so glad I trusted your skills … your “cozy noir” series was a complete delight. (The narration is also a joy!) I’m so sad to leave the gang at Hemlock House but am excited to see where you will take us readers next. The last book of the Last Picks wraps things well. And I love that Dash has grown in his relationship with Bobby and how it's wrapped up. I love that Dash has had success with his book career. And Vivian - well, yeah. Full circle? I am not sure I am sold on cozy stories, but this was a sweet ride.

As always, the characters drive the story and this was an entertaining listen. Dash and Bobby are honestly one of my favorite couples in any series. I love that they grow closer in each book and this was no different. The other characters are here as well but this story really digs deeper into Dash and the place he is in his life. There is a shocking return of a character that drives the mystery along and within this context, Dash has to make a decision that could take him on another adventure. I was pleasantly surprised by his choice. No spoiler here, that would ruin the fun! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This series was a joy, and while I have a few quibbles with this volume (as I did with the others—I'm a quibbler), I thought this was a fitting send-off to the Last Picks (and Bobby). It was a ton of fun to see Greg write cozies, and I can't wait for whatever he has in store for us next.

I truly enjoy this series. The story and narration are terrific. I couldn’t figure out why this one felt a bit off tand then I realized that “The Last Picks” weren’t as involved as usual. It’s a fun series filled with all the feels and the feels are just stronger when the whole gang is together.
