Bran has been thrust into the Trial of Kings before he was prepared, but even without his memories, he’s still the Bran who passed it once before.

However, this time he won’t just do the trial once but twice, with the second time being even more dangerous than the first to ensure he can pull all of his companions through the trial with him.

He finds himself shackled and imprisoned by a Simone who leads the Mul Branova within the trials, but she doesn't recognize him. Can he win her over a second time?

Watching Simone's mental gymnastics about Bran was very entertaining and we finally got the best girl romance.

This book continues this fantastic series in no uncertain terms. The Trial of Kings proves Brans determination and dedication to humanity as a whole and is a good focal point to the book. Once that ends the build up to the tournament is palpable with battles and rubber ducks in equal measure… things are coming to a head.

I believe character development proceeded. A bit too quick. for a few characters. In the plot. or was not as flushed out. the dynamic could be. though the main character is 500 years old. so, I guess he would just let some drama go. The Elegance and mandate of being an elder, I suppose

The floor shadowing is very good. often I found myself thinking about. potential tribulations for the group.
