This narrator is used for many of the author’s books. Her narration doesn’t enhance the story at all. I keep listening because I’ve read the book and I don’t want to miss what’s coming up.

The novel is wonderful. Read it and then bought the audible a couple years later for a road trip. Really enjoyed the storyline over all. A little heart wrenching, but not overwhelming. Main character has a pleasing personality in a difficult situation.

Ms. Grace, the voice talent, has improved dramatically over the years, but still grates my nerves at times. As someone else said, regional dialect, but that’s just hogwash. It’s a nasal quality that doesn’t appear in many of the side characters, so I’m assuming it’s part of her natural reading voice.

I read this before a long time ago on ebook and loved it.
Listening to the audiobook now I stayed up almost all night. I have vision problems and the story came alive over audio!
I didn’t have any issues with the narrator I think she did a fine job. The story is fantastic, excellent character development and the antagonists were varied but I never really saw the murder plot of a Royal in the story that was implied to.
Loved it!! I’m glad that there’ll be more books in the series.

So the next book is available in Kindle, but not yet available for Audible and I am truly enjoying these books so much I love the shenanigans and animal love and craziness I also love that the series deals with a very serious matter. This book is a little lighter and part of that, but it is definitely a great book.
