Knox Masters knows what he wants, and he gets it. All-American football player? Check. NFL pros scouting him? Check. Now he's set his sight on two things: the national title and Ellie Campbell. Sure, she's the sister of his teammate, but that's not going to stop him. Especially not when he's convinced that Ellie is the one.

But Ellie isn't as sure. She's trying to start a new life, and she's not interested in a relationship...with anyone. Besides, it's not just her cardinal rule of never dating her brother's teammates that keeps her away; Ellie has a dark secret that would jeopardize everything Knox is pursuing.

The audio really ruined this for me. The male narrator reminded me of a bad actor playing a criminal in black and white films. I don’t know how else to explain it!
I did enjoy the chemistry between our MCs and found it to be believable, even if the reason behind our H being a virgin wasn’t (but this is contemporary romance, so who cares)? Zero stars for Ellie’s parents, who were just the worst.

The focus of this story is the relationships, and how refreshing that we have a hero actually looking for love rather than one-night stands. Then theres the sibling relationship. These characters care for eachother. With a smidgen of angst and a whole lot of sweetness, this was a good story. Just wish the male narration was better.

This book is one of my go tos. If i am in a book slump I will read it. With life being so busy and still wanting to experience the story I have started to listen to more and more audiobooks. The big problem for me on this, is that the narrator Marc Bachmann. Though Marc has an amazing voice, it does not seem to work with the male lead in this story. His voice is raspy and he sounds like an older gentleman, but the lead in this story is a college age man. It threw me off a bit. Will i still listen? Of course.

I love this book.. BUT

The story was fine but the voices were too staged. The male voice needed to soften his impeccable articulation to sound more like a football player. He didn't read the Warriors record correctly.

Male voice did not depict part
