I loved this installment of the Whitfield and Sheridan‘s time traveling historical romance. Like the other books in the series, this story is told from multiple points of view. It does not focus on one couple but once again focuses on four couples - Valerie and Alec, Louisa and Kit, Finn and Abbie, and Sam and Susanna. There is a lot going on with these couples between the 17th and 18th centuries. This time, unexpected moments for these couples alter their paths in ways they never imagined. Interwoven with the couples story arcs there is once again social and religious commentary which adds interesting layers to the storyline. The story was well written and included three dimensional characters and an engaging storyline as shown through mystery, sweet moments, spice, laughs, messy families, painful pasts, surprises, danger, plot twists, fate, and love. I am looking forward to reading more in the series. 4.5 stars.

Fiona Small did a wonderful job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly.

Wow!! 5 STARS!! I absolute love the story line in this 5th book in this 6 book series and every single book has a plot and twist to keep you on the edge of your seat!! Grab some snacks and enjoy this remarkable series of "The Hands of Time"

I am lucky to have found the first book after reading Victoria Holt's Books. It popped right on up. I will continue reading her other series.. The performance of the books was amazing. Super easy to follow the 5th book, so much happens you have to be ok with the children and their choices..

Recommend Irina Shapiro if you want a well written heart felt story line!! Love the books!! Audio is so clear and easy to follow along.
