What if the goal of raising a Christian girl was about more than keeping her virginity intact? What if it was about raising a strong, independent young woman who knows who she is, uses her voice, and confidently steps into the life God has for her?

From the authors of The Great Sex Rescue comes this evidence-based book grounded on surveys of over 28,000 women to offer moms a fresh, freeing, and biblically grounded message of sexuality and self-worth for their daughters that is less about the don'ts and more about the dos.

This isn't your average parenting book: no pat answers or overly broad principles here. No cliche prescriptives or toxic teachings that your daughter will have to unpack and recover from as an adult, like so many of us have. Instead, you'll find data-driven insights about how to raise a woman who is resilient, knows her strength, and has the discernment skills needed to make good choices. By reframing (and sometimes replacing) common evangelical messages to teen girls, this book will equip you to raise a girl who can navigate the difficult waters of growing up while still clinging tight to the God who created her on purpose, for a purpose.

This was a hard book to listen to as it confronted the very tricky teachings that groomed me to enter into a toxic marriage that lasted over 2 decades. I'm so grateful for the work that was put into this so I can hopefully teach my daughters to watch out for red flags and to fully embrace who God created them to be.

A must read for the evangelical church!

A must read. I’m ordering a hard copy as well to re-read and share. This information will be beneficial in my parenting for my daughter and sons. This gives language to the low hum of frustration I have had as a woman within the institutional church structures.

Illuminating

I didn’t grow up in a very complimentarian church, and yet I still was exposed to many of the toxic teachings regarding modesty, sex, emotions, and more that Sheila, Rebecca and Joanna discuss in this book. If you are a Christian mom looking for resources, read this one first. It is a great tool for discernment when it comes to how to set your daughters up for success.

The church needs to hear this.

This book is helpful for teaching my daughters about this subject. It's a little redundant with the survey results. I appreciate this book and the efforts the authors put into researching this subject and sharing new ideas to create a safer future for females.

My husband and I really appreciated the research that went into this book! Sheila puts words to the harm that is a result of purity culture and that has been incredibly impactful for my process of unpacking so much of my early years as a child swept along by religious purity culture. I recommend this to every parent!

A very therapeutic unpacking
