Who do you trust? Who can you depend on?

James Beltz's modern-day gunslinger, known to the rest of us as DJ Slaughter, returns in this thrilling sequel. Book one left us with a massive cliffhanger. Book two serves to answer all of your burning questions in the very first chapter. However, in a sudden, neck-snapping plot twist, you will only be left with more questions. Nice job, James. Very nice job indeed...

The first book was a break-neck pace of thrilling adventure, reminding this reviewer of the first season of the Fox TV series "24". You know, before it went downhill and got all politically correct. But I digress...this sequel only allows you enough pause to catch your breath and dive deeper into the characters you have come to love. Along with an introduction to a few more you will quickly find yourself attached to. By the time you get to the end, you will feel like you know them all personally.

But prepare yourself. The world is littered with villains. James very effectively reminds us that they can spring out at you from places you least expect. This time, DJ has met his match. And how do you beat someone that is better than you? I guess you'll have to listen to the book to find out....

the previous book was terrific and most of this book is as well, but sometimes it just drags on and the author takes way too long to get through a scene

mostly good, but it drags on it times

OMG. The names DJ gives are quite moronic.
I listened to the whole thing thinking it would get better. It didn’t. Seriously disappointed.

I enjoyed the first book enough to go for the second and while I enjoy the story, the narration just seems a little light. Almost seems like the book would be one of the few I might enjoy reading more than listening to which is odd. Been with Audible since around 2006 to 2008 and love listening but while the narrator has a good voice, he almost makes some parts sound a bit "girlie" which just doesn't fit for me with the story line. If I can find the next book, think I'll try reading it.

So in spite of what reads like a negative, I have enjoyed the author's work. And I am still Die Hard Audible!

Good story, narration could be better

It will leave on the edge of your seat!!

There is just a lot of extra descriptions and feelings that get described that aren’t necessary. By the time you figure this out the book has you hooked.

The story is great!!!
