the Isekai thing makes little to no impact on the story. the author could have cut every instance of it showing up, and the story wouldn't change. it's not like the MC brought guns or anything modern to the new world. just a very driven kid who's more mature, but still a kid.
it's still a good story, there's just some things that irked me.
it gets better. and the cover is a bit misleading.

One of a kind with lovable characters

I say this because this is the most critical I've ever felt of a title, and I'm not sure why.
The first 2 chapters almost made me put it away, 2 chapters of what felt like zero plot was a lot. And then nothing happened on the story to hook me until the end of chapter 5. From there, it was smooth sailing. That is untill the end. Within the last 40 minutes the title drops a ton of exposition in a couple of chapters that was teased at throughout the book. This feels like something that should and could have been dispensed throughout the story, but the author didn't find a way to thread it in. The end result feels like a book that was fun to listen to, but was poorly paced, and had a lot of filler that lasted too long, and important bits that were given much too little time. I hope to see the author improve with their next title, and am looking forward to it.
Great listen, pacing was a bit odd.
