I appreciate that the author streamlined the story and didn't find the need to follow the characters' development step by step. However, as powerful as his enemies were, some magic assistance would show up just in the nick of time with no reference to where it came from.

The narrator really brought this story together. With the different character voices. Really enjoyed this book looking forward to the next one

I feel like more context to the world from start and through would be nice. It took me a while to figure out what happened at the start.

I loved the key moments of each Boss fights. They were impactful and gave meaning.

I have to say… the performance was a little off. There were parts that were clearly dramatized in a different way than felt intended for the story. And a few times that words were pronounced annoyingly incorrectly… however, I love the story! The author did well in describing the action scenes. That made it very intimate. I highly anticipate the sequel

This story kept my attention. It makes me think of a gritty and dark version of something written by James Haddock, whose books I tend to enjoy. Definitely much rougher and bloodier than Haddock, but I like that sometimes, too.

The setup is there for sequels, though, none are listed on audible at the time of this writing, but it's published by Aethon, so, a series is almost guaranteed. All that to say, I'll be keeping an eye out for more books in a series.
