The rich bad boy found out that I write smut!

When the popular skateboarding punk at my high school discovers that I write dirty romance books, he promises to tell the entire school and ruin my life if I don’t do everything he wants of me. Desperate to make it through the rest of senior year unseen, I reluctantly go along with it.

I skip class to meet him in the back hallways and show up at the skatepark to satisfy his every last need. I tell myself that I’m only doing this because of the blackmail he’s holding over me, but I can’t help the jealousy that boils inside me when he begins hanging out with the school slut.

Blaise Harleen might think that I’m his good girl, but he’s mine. All mine.

The Bad Boy is a steamy new adult romance and the third audiobook in the Bad Boys of Redwood Academy series of standalones. This series does not have to be listened to in order.

Narrators Logan McAllister and Vivienne Larue did the voices for Blaise Harleen and Verra Rodriguez in this dual, first POV audiobook.

Vivienne sounded like she had a Spanish accent and really made Vera sound authentic. She also had a really great and deep male voice while narrating. It almost sounded like another person was reading those lines.

Logan did a great job as Blaise and his voice did have a young bad boy sounds to it. It wasn't real deep and raspy, but he sounded firm and demanding during his lines. Especially during the parts where he was speaking to others, he growled his lines almost and it was really hot.

There was 1 chapter that he went back and re-recorded a line but didn't erase the one he recorded originally out of it. So 1 time he spoke the line as normal and the 2nd attempt was growled loudly. It's an obvious mess up, but didn't take away from the book itself. That happened in chapter 58.

Vera had assumed she had Blaise all figured out. She knew what kind of things were said about him and she believed every bit of it. He was bad, bad news and had rich parents that bailed him out of everything. He was another rich, spoiled, arrogant kid that had everything while her family was poor and her mom worked double shifts everyday for them to still be broke. It just wasn't fair to her.

She couldn't have been more wrong about Blaise. Yes, he was the bad boy who got away with a lot, and was blackmailing her (kinda). What she didn't know was there was so much more to him and going on behind the scenes. Not everything is what it seems and he'd trade places with her in a heartbeat.

The whole thing with Mateo??? That blew my mind and In all actuality did add up in the math. So Vera and Blaise were 5 when her mother was fired from being the Harleen's maid. Once you read the book, you figure out why she was really fired and Vera claimed Blaise and his family for their struggles, when in reality her mom should have been fired. But, Vera is a senior and 18 and a Mateo is a sophomore, had a birthday so he would have turned 16. They are only 3 years apart, but she was 5 when her mother did that with Blaise' dad. The math ain't adding up.

Blaise's parents were awful. They didn't care about their son and he was often left alone at home for weeks/months on end. He was lonely and craved love and nurturing do down that he ended up getting from Vera's family.

Vera was so quick to judge Blaise and believed every little thing she heard about him. She didn't like him around her brother in fear of him doing something to Mateo. She had him all wrong in her head and didn't believe him when he was telling the truth. Which she would retaliate and find herself in predicaments that he would have to save her from and she'd still run it in his face to make him jealous and hurt him.

Vera treated him so childishly and was the mean one to him. Yes he technically "blackmailed" her for s3x, but that didn't last long from where his feelings started. He really had feelings for her his entire life, but didn't realize his actions showed that because he never saw love and care first hand. He would save Vera and show up time and time again for her, but she couldn't recognize the signs either, or didn't want to see/believe them. Saying she would never fall for someonr like Blaise.

The relationship between Vera and her mom was off a little too. She didn't want to talk to her mother about things because she didn't want to bother her mom. Yet, when they did talk it was not a normal mother/daughter conversations. It was short and didn't give any advice to care beside a short up. It wasn't warm and caring in my head.

In the end I really enjoyed this book. I love Blaise and Vera as a couple. It really brought the childhood friendship and bad boy/good girl vibes. If Vera would have opened her eyes more she would have seen Blaisev wasn't around her for blackmail and s3x. He got her to write her smut online for free and showed her others would love it just like he did. He made sure she has everything she needed to write more, like the laptop. I love Blaises character a lot. The suspense, unaliving, kidnapping and other bad things we got in this book was twisted and so enjoyable. A must-read, this entire series is and I can't wait for the rest to come out on audible.
