From the host of the critically acclaimed The Divorce Survival Guide Podcast comes a book that provides the clarity, peace, and answers women need to make empowered decisions about their marriages, break unhealthy patterns, and build the life they truly want.

Every year, close to a million women struggle to decide whether to divorce their partners. Some are in relationships they know to be unsalvageable, yet they're terrified that divorce will hurt their kids. Others feel guilt-ridden and confused over their unhappiness with a spouse who seems, to the outside world at least, to be perfectly fine. And then there are those in between, restless and aware of problems that may or may not be fixable, with no idea how to tell the difference.

The D Word is the definitive yet accessible guide for everyone who wants to take control of their lives, either by ending or repairing their marriage. Written in Kate Anthony's signature straight-talking, empowering style, The D Word is more than a practical handbook for those considering divorce. It also reveals how cultural and societal influences negatively affect our relationships and expectations, stacking the odds against women.

This book gave me a lot of insight and it also offered me perspectives that I might not have considered otherwise. I plan on listening to it again, almost like a workbook now that I know what to expect. I think that'll help me in my journey.

Kate offers an insightful and deeply personal exploration of the emotional and practical challenges that accompany divorce. The advice shared feels real and palpable, drawing from both research and firsthand experience. The guidance is not idealized but rather grounded in the harsh realities of navigating such a life-altering transition. What stands out is the book’s emphasis on self-care, clear communication, and setting realistic expectations, which makes the advice relatable and actionable for anyone on the precipice of divorce. Kate’s honesty about the complexities of relationships and the emotional toll of divorce provides a reassuring voice, which helps me feel more prepared for the liberating path ahead. PS: There were so many times when I was shouting, Yes! Yes! that is sooooo accurate and ... oh, that's why he behaves like that!

I am beyond thrilled to review this book first on Audible. I anxiously waited for it to be published and binge listened to it as soon as it was live. Kate is my muse. I listen to her obsessively. I think I would probably date her, and I’ve never dated a woman (there must be another Glennon and Abby story!)…but seriously, I would. She’s brilliant. She is the reason I finally have the courage to leave my narcissistic husband with five kids and finally divorce his ass. She’s the fucking reason I’m studying to become a divorce coach. What she is doing for women in this arena is world-changing. I hope she writes another book that is geared specifically for extremely high conflict cases. I get my hands on anything I can to educate me while going through this divorce, and would give my left arm to be able to afford her as my divorce coach. Do yourself a favor and read the damn book! She’s amazing.

When you know, you’ll just know.
