At midnight, one of them is dead. By morning, all of them are suspects.

It's the party to end all parties . . . but not everyone is here to celebrate.

On New Year's Eve, Rhys Lloyd has a house full of guests. His vacation homes on Mirror Lake are a success, and he's generously invited the village to drink champagne with their wealthy new neighbors.

But by midnight, Rhys will be floating dead in the freezing waters of the lake.

On New Year's Day, Ffion Morgan has a village full of suspects. The tiny community is her home, so the suspects are her neighbors, friends and family—and Ffion has her own secrets to protect.

With a lie uncovered at every turn, soon the question isn't who wanted Rhys dead . . . but who finally killed him.

In a village with this many secrets, murder is just the beginning.

The narrator have these characters life with the accents. The beginning of the story was a bit slow, but it ramped up the mystery until the end. The foul language was a bit much, but it was still a great mystery.

Amazing narrator!

This was a good story, well told. None of the characters were all that endearing, but that worked for this story. As an American, I had a little trouble with a bit of the Welsh accents, and I also didn’t realize there was this much animosity between the English and the Welsh. I imagine that is always the case along borders, however. Well worth the credit and time.

Really Good!

Very good story. But … between following heavy accents and so many character names it takes almost too much effort. That said … I enjoyed but was glad I have easily reversed listening device.

Great but…

Such a good book! Loved how the timeline was written and how everyone was essentially connected to the murder. Definitely reading book #2.
