Took me months to finish because I didn’t want their story to end. Love all the guys in this epic series.

Ilya and Shane FOREVER!

At first the Narrator change was jarring, but power through! I like to think that Ilya just got better at speaking English as he spent more time with Shane. That's really the only one I noticed. I'm going to miss those two, hope there is a third book! Maybe they can adopt?

This was a great follow up to their initial story. It would have been great if we could get a sense of how well they did in their season. On the other hand, their story gets to live in your mind for so much longer. Cooper North did well with the narration, but I still love what Tor Thom did in the first. Excellent series and I recommend it!!

This series rocked my world in so many ways. This series challenges romance (dirty romance too) stereotypes by being incredibly well written, funny, moving, while also challenging bigotry, homophobia, gender and societal norms and more. It’s everything a great book should be.

I love Reid’s idealized NHL where it’s hard to be queer but there are corners of support and acceptance that allow many players to be their authentic selves (vs. the reality of 2024 NHL where players are actively protesting even wearing a pride jersey for warm up. Ugh. ). I don’t like hockey for all the reasons Reid speaks to, but fell in love with it in these books. Reid even has powerful ideas for how to solve many of the problems plaguing NHL and other professional sports.

I also adored so many tiny things—from the best kid wedding I’ve ever read to how much difference the right pet can make to the awkward and weird moments that happen during sex sometimes—that Reid acknowledges and incorporates. I loved it so much I had to go back and reread Shayne and Ilya’s first book again and came right back to read this one a second time just to fall in love with them all over again. And I don’t read books twice. I just didn’t.

Ilya is my favorite (he makes me laugh so much!)—and this depiction of depression touched me to my core. To acknowledge its struggles even when you’re doing everything right, and that it’s not a thing you can just get over or heal was so empowering.
