Trust no one.

I learn that the hard way after hockey star Carter Masters stabs me in the back and turns our rival school against me.

Suddenly, I'm public enemy number one at Framingham State. Just a year later, that's exactly where I'm forced to enroll.

No one has forgotten what I did. The anti-Sydney campaign is led by two gorgeous, psycho hockey players. Oliver Ruiz, captain, and Penn Walker, the devastating goalie.

They have me in their sights the moment I step foot on their campus. Where they lead, the rest of the students follow. They won't stop until I'm gone and Carter's team faces payback.

My only solace from the constant bullying comes from a blocked number that keeps texting me.

As much as Oliver and Penn want to, they can't drive me off completely. Because even at the worst moments, I know I'm not going anywhere.

After all, I'm their coach's daughter.

Probably my favorite book. Dark, dirty, and delicious. I've read/listened to the author before and I have enjoyed all of them but this one has everything I love. Beware of the trigger warnings.

Sydney decides to go all Mission Impossible and break into the home of Oliver, the hockey captain from her school’s biggest rival, in a daring quest to snag back her lost treasure. While on her undercover adventure, she stumbles upon the ultimate golden ticket: his team’s playbook for the big game against her own squad! Naturally, she whips out her phone and snaps some sneaky pics to send to her ex, Carter, who’s now captain of her team. Fast forward to game day, and Oliver’s team takes a total nosedive into defeat. But oh snap—Sydney’s little escapade gets exposed! Now she’s left scrambling, losing her scholarship and begging her dad (who just happens to be the coach at the school she betrayed) for a lifeline. But wait—what happens when she catches the eye of the dreamy captain and goalie? Can she skate her way through this mess? I was on the edge of my seat, heart racing with every twist and turn! And don’t forget your headphones; the audiobook is pure magic! With star-studded performances from Alyssa Avery, Teddy Hamilton, Gregory Salinas, and Alex Kydd, you’ll be hooked from start to finish!

In the end, this book was good. I am not a huge fan of the multiple partners trope, but I loved the Hockey Gods series so I wanted to give this book a try. It’s very dark, so please read the trigger warnings. It’s a little crazy how much bad stuff happens to one character. Carter was my favorite. He is dark, but he did the very least terrible things to Sydney and he’s so caring with her. He also has loved her the longest. It’s obvious from the beginning of the book how much Carter loves Sydney. In my opinion, Oliver and Penn just can’t come back from what they did to her. I almost didn’t finish it a couple of times simply bc I wasn’t a fan of what was going on, but I the book kept me interested enough to push through and find out what happens. I’m still not a fan of the why choose trope, but this book was well written.

This book had a lot of tropes. So many that it became kinda disjointed in the plot. 3/5 overall read. Good as a distraction in between other books. FMC made choices that didn't make sense to me. MMCs were protective but also mean.
