Well it was only a matter of time until Eve was bound to be faced with the murder of someone she knew well. This one definitely had me scratching my head a bit. I enjoyed it but I felt like the mystery was a bit convoluted. Still, Patti keeps these stories short and sweet which will keep me coming back!

This is once again narrated by Julie McKay who is the queen of solo narration!

I was surprised to learn who the victim of book 12 of the Search and Rescue Cozy Mysteries, Tooth Dismay will grab your attention from the beginning. Patti Benning has a knack for creating a “want to know more” story.

From the previous books in the series we know Eve works for a local clinic in Granite with the Clark’s, Dr Brent and his wife Amelia . Tooth Dismay begins when a fire destroys the dental clinic where Eve works, one which lands a shocking blow and hits a little close to home for Eve. As determined as ever, can she process her loss and help Amelia find the answers to these devastating events?

Each character is portrayed by Julie McKay with conviction. The transition from calmness to desperation is so good. The scene at Amelia’s with Eve and Zoe had me on the edge of my seat with Julie’s performance. Each character has a very distinct and different voice throughout. I enjoyed the pace and flow of the audiobook. A joy to listen.

Thank you Patti for another great mystery. You kept me turning the pages. Thank you to Blue Nose for an entertaining advanced listener copy. Looking forward to the next cozy mystery.

Adorable cozy mystery series with the added bonus of furry friends! This series is a bunch of short and sweet novellas about Evelyn Foster and her two search dogs. Great series! I cant wait to read more about Evelyn Foster!

Eve is worried about her bosses, the dentists. They do not seem to be getting along lately. Suddenly one evening she stumbles upon the dental clinic on fire!! Ringer dismay the dentist (the husband) is found inside deceased. Was this just an accident or murder?

Danger is lurking. Something no one is aware of. Things between Eve's boss and his wife appear to be on the rocks, but when the dental office is burned to the ground and her boss perishes with the fire, everyone is a suspect. Eve has the time and the need to investigate. But what is found out is surprising! Will Eve be able to figure out if it was murder and if so, who is the culprit? Highly emotional, and unpredictable, this mystery is exciting and had me guessing the entire time. Each person was guilty in my mind until a new suspect came to light, and then that person was guilty! It had me from the start! Plus I am enjoying the budding relationship between Eve and Aiden. Enjoyed this story and look forward to more.

Julie McKay always captures my attention and with a few new characters, she pulls out even more voices to keep the performance fresh and fun. I love her and her narration is spot on!
