Originally published in October 1983 as part of Silhouette Romance #252. This is one of Roberts’ early stories that has stuck with me over the years. Jo Wilder always impressed me as strong, confident, intelligent and pretty independent, my very favorite characteristics in a FMC. It is sad in that these traveling circuses no longer exist in the U.S.
Possible Spoilers:
Jovilette Wilder is only 22 but has lived and breathed Prescott’s Circus Colossus her entire life. She’s a lion trainer, daughter of a lion trainer and an aerialist. She speaks and reads almost 7 languages and has never felt limited. Her mentor and guardian, Frank Prescott, died of a sudden heart attack 6 months previously when his son finally arrives to look over his inheritance. Sparks fly. Can a lawyer from Chicago and a circus performer truly fall for each other? And find a way to bridge two worlds?
Rudd does a good job with narration but the recording quality leaves a bit to be desired.

The entire story line fell flat. I’m not going to be purchasing any more of Nora Roberts books unless she goes back to when she wrote great stories.

In the beginning, I had a hard time turning off my A.D.H.D. but I really enjoyed it. I'm glad I stuck with it.

Jovilette and Keane met when he inherited the circus that she worked at as a lion tamer. Keane is a defense lawyer and was given the circus. She immediately disliked him, but both were attracted to each other which turned into love. I liked the characters. They were interesting. I really like the setting and Jo’s job. The romance was fun.
