I've never been a good bet.

I wear my emotions on my tattoo-covered sleeve, I say all the wrong things, and I revel in pissing off a certain redhead far more than I should. In other words, I'm the last person the court would choose to parent any child, let alone three of them.

Yet being their father is all I want.

So when the woman I love to hate offers to help make all my dreams come true, I jump at the chance. Marrying Ava is a convenient solution: she's my kids' favorite person and the court will absolutely approve of the woman who runs the biggest charity in Boston.

But there is nothing convenient about the way I feel when she fights with me, or when we kiss. And I'm not sure which I enjoy more.

This marriage may have a time limit but I'm beginning to think I'd like to keep my wife. She'll probably fight me on it, but as they say, all's fair in love and war.

Narrated in duet style.

Oh my dear Lord! I absolutely love this story! I love war from the bottom of my heart with all my heart! And I love Ava, I love that she is so spicy and has such a strong backbone when it comes to her family and war and standing up for herself. I love the love that they share for the kids. The spice is great. Everything was going so well I didn’t shed one tier until that bonus epilogue scene! Oh my God, I am literally bawling. Such an amazing story.

I waited until the audiobook was out to read about War & Ava, and it was SO worth the wait! I know I like to toss around the term "all the feels" a lot, but gahh, my cuppeth runneth over!!!

In the last book, we really got to see how much tension had been living between these two and when Ava showed up at his new home with War's douche canoe step brother - I KNEW their book was going to be fire. Ava and Tyler are both carrying some pretty heavy emotional scars, Ava has physical ones tied to her emotional ones as well. After a missed connection starting out, they soon make an art out of tossing barbs and the public show of extreme dislike. The one thing they both have a connection to, however, is Josie - the girl who's been abandoned by both her foster family and mother when she needs love and stability the most. In an effort to give her the family she is so deserving of, the unlikely pair decide to wed, shocking some (but not all) of the people in their lives.

I loved seeing them open up to each other and fall in love. Ava is the best mom, and Tyler Warren is literally all the best attributes of a father and husband ever written. He takes all of these broken hearts, and heals those around him with the abundance of love he carries within himself. I especially adored his relationship with Braden - and omg, that extended future epilogue almost had me happy crying while sitting in traffic!

After reading the Langfield brothers and all the books that have branched into the Bolts series, I swear the found family trope has taken first place as my favorite - or maybe it's just how Brittanee writes them lol.

This review wouldn't be complete without gushing over the duet narration by dreamboat Connor Crais & sassy Angelina Rocca. These two were so perfect vibing off each other, and I honestly don't think I've ever heard them do a better multi character reading!

I am stupid excited to read Daniel Hall's book next - I just know he and Hannah will make some special book magic together!

Best one yet!
