This wasn’t supposed to happen. I was supposed to glide through senior year unnoticed and ride into the sunset on the back of my aunt’s inflated bank account. I was supposed to be in control.

Now they are.

The trials will last 60 days. They can happen anytime, anyplace, and anyone or anything is fair game. I won’t see them coming. I’ll need to be ready at all times. Prepared to fight, to steal, to save, and to kill at Diesel St. Crow’s command.

While I sit on standby, he’s ordered his sons to keep an eye on me, and they’ve become my own personal wardens.

Corvus, Rook, and Grey. Their watchful stares will make destroying them from the inside harder than I planned for.

But as truths are dragged out of the shadows and new dangers emerge, I may be forced to accept that they are more than armed roadblocks in my path. They might also be my only hope of survival.

Wicked Trials is a full-length, dark enemies-to-lovers reverse-harem romance, meaning the main character will have more than one love interest. It is book two in the Boys of Briar Hall series and should be listened to after Crooked Crows.

Warning: This is a dark gang romance. It contains foul language, graphic depictions of gang violence, and jealous/possessive themes. Please listen responsibly.

The Bordeauxs did it again! The narration is top notch and brings the book to life. The series is well written and doesn’t lag. Can't wait for series to progress.

So book 2 brings us into the fold of the Saints/Crows and the trials Ava Jade has to endure so she isn't offed for what she did at the end of book 1. Some things were better in this sequel, while some parts were a bit slow for me. I think book 3 so far has been the best (had to keep listening after that ending!) but 2 does a good job lining things up. Some this were a little OTT with Ava Jade (one of the reasons I couldnt give it an outright 5 stars) but I got used to it haha.

I was sorta on the fence in book 1 regarding the guys but the author started to convince me to fall for them. Now don't get me wrong, they all are broken/have their own darkness so if you are looking for butterflies and rainbows, turn away now. But if you like dark contemporary romance, then this is for you. We get to see the guys slowly fall for Ava Jade, let her get under their skin so to speak. The first trial was unexpected but had some great funny moments. Description of everything made me envision it on a tv show or easily in my head. The stalker comes back into the picture full force, won't give it away but maaaaan does the guy need a chill pill and some help. The threats from him loom over Ava Jade until the confrontation. The dealings with Diesel get worse and worse for Ava Jade. Totally am not a fan of him and happy to see his comeuppance after the crap he puts Ava Jade through. I still really like Grey the most but Rook and Corvus definitely gain some brownie points. I love how loyal Rook and steadfast he is, despite his unhinged nature. Corvus starts to realize his feelings and how his behavior is impacting Ava Jade and his chances with her. Some adorable/vulnerable moments sprinkled in this book which I appreciated. I think for me the instant relationship with Bekka didnt feel 100% right to me. I honestly thought she was going to be the evil mastermind, thank goodness she wasn't, but not sure how genuine it felt (their instant bestie status).

Narration was on point as this dynamic duo usually does! Love the duet narration and the emotion that came in this one. It wasn't as intense as, let's say, book 3 but more to come in that review haha. This one the tension was super thick with the characters you could cut it with a dull butter knife. The narrators did a good job adding that emotion to the performance to this audiobook, bringing Ava Jade, the Crows, and the side characters to life!

Slowed down a bit, but still good ❤️

Ava Jade is such a strong and fearless character. She does what she feels is right and does not hold back. Ava Jade starts the trails in this book and has to work her ass off just to survive them. I love how protective Rook, Corvus, and Gray are in this book. I also loved getting to see another side of Corvus. Such a great fast paced book that is packed with angst, hotness, and heartache. I can't wait to find out what happens next. Jake and Bridget Bordeaux as always did an amazing job narrating. They are a couple of my favorite narrators. I love that they make you feel the characters emotions.

Kick ass character and awesome narrators!
