• Homily | April 19, 2026 | The Walk To Emmaus (Episode 95)
    Apr 19 2026

We reflect on the seven-mile walk to Emmaus and the quiet way disappointment can pull a heart away from God without a dramatic break. We trace how Jesus draws near, lights a fire through Scripture, reveals Himself in the Eucharist, and calls us to turn back and live like people who have truly met the risen Christ.

    • the slow drift that starts with “We were hoping”
    • talking about Jesus while not recognizing Jesus
    • how grief, sin, and disappointment can blind us
    • Scripture reframing the cross as the door
    • the turning point prayer “Stay with us” and why love never forces
    • recognizing Christ in the breaking of the bread at Mass
    • urgency after encounter and the call to stop delaying
    • questions that expose where we are walking away
Stay with me, Jesus. Stay with me in my marriage. Stay with me in my grief. Stay with me in my doubt.

  • Homily | April 18, 2026 | When God Feels Absent And Life Keeps Moving (Episode 94)
    Apr 18 2026

It’s possible to be doing the right thing and still feel like you’re stuck in the dark. We start with a single, easy-to-miss line from the Gospel: night has fallen, the wind is against the disciples, and Jesus has not yet come. That moment is painfully familiar, the season when you keep moving forward, trying to be faithful, but God feels quiet, far, or absent. We name the loneliness, the fear, and the temptation to assume silence means abandonment.

Then we zoom out to the early Church and notice something just as honest: growth doesn’t eliminate problems. As the community expands, people are overlooked, frustration builds, and division threatens unity. Instead of panicking, the apostles respond with clarity and wisdom. They call for Spirit-filled leaders, create structure, and let shared service protect the mission. It’s a grounded reminder that God can be present even when a community is messy, pressured, and unsure what comes next.

Finally, we return to the storm and the surprising twist: when Jesus comes, the disciples don’t recognize Him right away, and they’re afraid. Sometimes God’s help doesn’t look like instant fixes or quick answers. Sometimes it sounds like three steady words: “It is I. Do not be afraid.” We talk about what changes when His presence is enough, how to keep rowing when you can’t see the shoreline, and why real faith is often built in the dark. If this encouraged you, subscribe, share it with a friend who’s struggling, and leave a review with what helps you keep trusting when you can’t feel God.

  • Homily | April 17, 2026 | Bring What You Have And Watch It Multiply (Episode 93)
    Apr 17 2026

We contrast cautious, safe faith with real trust, using Gamaliel’s wait and see approach and the feeding of the five thousand. We land on a simple challenge: offer what you have right now and let God multiply it.
    • Gamaliel’s measured advice as wisdom without conviction
    • The temptation to live near God while keeping a safe distance
    • Philip’s realistic numbers and why logic alone can stall faith
    • Andrew’s honest question of scarcity and our shared “not enough” mindset
    • Jesus’ response, “Bring it to me,” as the shift from caution to trust
    • The miracle beginning with an offering rather than abundance
    • Availability over perfection as a practical rule for discipleship
    • Twelve baskets leftover as a sign of God’s abundance
    • A direct invitation to surrender the small thing we keep holding back

  • Homily | April 16, 2026 | Stay Faithful Under Pressure (Episode 92)
    Apr 16 2026

We wrestle with the hardest part of Acts 5:29: “We must obey God rather than men,” especially when faith stops being comfortable and starts costing us. We look at Peter’s shift from fear to steady conviction and ask what it means to choose truth over pressure in everyday life.
    • why obedience feels easy until it has a price
    • the apostles facing the Sanhedrin and the command to stop
    • the choice between staying safe and staying faithful
    • “we must” as necessity rather than preference
    • objective truth that sits above feelings and social approval
    • faith as witness to a person rather than an adjustable idea
    • the question of whose voice shapes our decisions under pressure
    • quiet conviction built in small steps over time
Stay grounded. Stay clear. Stay faithful. Make Christ your priority.

  • Homily | April 15, 2026 | Choose The Light (Episode 91)
    Apr 15 2026

We sit with a hard truth from the Gospel: we love the idea of light, but we often prefer darkness when light asks us to change. We follow the apostles from prison doors flung open to bold witness, and we ask where God is inviting us to step into healing truth.
    • why light feels threatening because it reveals what is real
    • the apostles arrested for speaking truth and witnessing the resurrection
    • God opening prison doors and the angel’s command to tell everything
    • choosing light as a shift in priorities not just behavior
    • questions that expose our hiding places and half measures
    • God’s light as healing and restoration rather than shame
    • becoming a credible witness by living real not perfect

  • Homily | April 14, 2026 | Who Is Better Off Because Of You? (Episode 90)
    Apr 14 2026

We ask a simple but demanding question: if faith has changed us, can anyone else see it. We look at the early Church and Barnabas to learn how the resurrection becomes visible through generosity that makes other people’s lives better.
    • the early Church as one heart and mind
    • “no needy person among them” as a community choice
    • why the most convincing witness is a shared way of life
    • Barnabas as the model of quiet encouragement and generosity
    • shifting from “what do I keep?” to “where can I give?”
    • the practical test: who is better off because I’m in their life
    • one concrete baby step that makes faith visible
So take one step today. I'm going to challenge you. Not a big one. Take a baby step, a real one. Notice someone you usually overlook. Give time to someone who has been asking for a phone call or for a visit. Give where you normally hold back. Encourage someone who needs it. Be a Barnabas.

  • Podcast | What You Hide Is Where God Meets You (Episode 89)
    Apr 13 2026

We start with Divine Mercy Sunday and a bold question that exposes what we keep behind locked doors. We talk through shame, the certainty Jesus gives in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and why forgiveness is complete even while healing continues.
    • the question “What is the one part of your life you hope stays hidden”
    • locked doors in John 20 as a picture of shame and fear
    • why what stays in the dark grows and shapes decisions
    • confession as bringing sin into truth for healing
    • eternal punishment versus temporal punishment and why effects remain
    • penance, indulgences, and purgatory as repair and purification
    • why Jesus gives the Church authority to forgive sins
    • “fully forgiven, not yet fully healed” as a key framework
    • baby steps for growth, including examination of conscience and regular confession

  • Homily | April 13, 2026 | From Nighttime Faith To Public Courage (Episode 88)
    Apr 13 2026

We contrast Nicodemus coming to Jesus at night with Peter and John walking into the world with boldness. We name what it looks like when the Holy Spirit turns faith from private agreement into real, public change.
    • Nicodemus as cautious and curious rather than evil
    • Jesus’ challenge that being good is not enough
    • “Born from above” as a real interior shift
    • Peter and John praying for courage instead of safety
    • Evidence of the Spirit shown in speech and actions
    • Baby steps out of the shadows through daily courage
Ask for it. Pray for it. Not for comfort, not for ease, but for boldness.
