Let’s Play! is a podcast for driven athletes who want to take their game to the next level.

Hosted by Mindset Coach Jojo Allred, this podcast focuses on building confidence, consistency, and trust under pressure. Each episode helps athletes understand what’s holding them back mentally and how to move through it so their hard work actually shows up in performance.

Jojo works closely with athletes through one-on-one coaching, getting to know who they are, how they think, and what they want from their sport. That same approach carries into this podcast — real conversations, real mindset shifts, and practical guidance athletes can use before, during, and after their season.

If you’re an athlete who loves your sport, works hard, and knows you’re capable of more, Let’s Play! is here to remind you that you’re not doing this alone.

  • Let's Play Without Comparison
    Apr 6 2026

Do you compare yourself to your teammates? To an opponent? To yourself?

Comparison is toxic to our mind when we play our sport because we end up putting more pressure on ourselves...

Am I on the same timeline as everyone else? Am I worse than I was last season? When will I be better than the player coach is playing over me?

In today's episode, Coach Jojo breaks down why comparison is one of the biggest issues of why you aren't excelling in your sport.

As much as you might think comparing yourself is helping you out, it's actually setting you further back. Maybe you think that it's motivating you to work harder, but Jojo will tell you that the comparison mindset will create so many extra negative emotions.

Comparison creates guilt, enyy, and jealously and we never want to play with those emotions when we can avoid that.

Not only will Coach Jojo explain why comparison is a mindset you need to get out of, she also provides you 3 tools of how to help train your mind to not compare:

    1. Journal your limiting beliefs

    2. Back to Me Method

    3. Become grateful (realization)

Give this podcast a listen if you even remotely find yourself feeling behind from others, feeling envious, or like you're out of some control with yourself. This podcast will help you with that!

  • Let's Play with our Instincts
    Mar 16 2026

Do you ever feel like your instincts are "bad" or that you don't have them? Well, you're wrong.

You're wrong because there is no such thing as a bad instinct nor is there such a thing of a good instinct. And let me also tell you that we all have instincts--we just have to find a way to let them come out naturally.

But why does Coach Jojo think this is a subject worth talking about in our sport?

Instincts are EVERYTHING in our sport because playing a sport is fast. You have to make reactions right on the spot and in the moment, but that becomes hard to do when you're thinking about everything.

Thinking about your mechanics, your techniques, whether or not you're going to make the correct play, not to messing up, and playing perfectly.

Our thoughts are slow and our instincts are fast.

In this episode, Coach Jojo chats about how crucial it is to unlock your inner powers, A.K.A. your instincts. She lets you know that your overthinking thoughts are the reason for why you can't play on the fly, which results in you not playing like yourself.

And who is having fun when they're playing like themselves? Not me!

The irony of having an instinct is to develop the skill to not think (or overthink for that matter), but it actually does require some thinking in order to develop the skill. Luckily, Coach Jojo provides 3 tools of how to help yourself become a reactor and not an over-thinker.

    1. TRUST your first read

    2. TRUST in a word

    3. TRUST in your reactions

If you're struggling with playing off of an instinct, this episode will help you unlock your future! (Of course if you also practice and do the work yourself.)

  • Let's Play Imperfect
    Mar 9 2026

Are you an athlete that is ALWAYS trying to avoid mistakes in practices or games/matches? If you are, that means you want to play perfectly, and guess what? That's not possible!

In this episode, Coach Jojo calls out the athletes that are trying to play perfectly and why that issue is causing you problems. The main issue being that you probably have a control issue, but she is able to name give you three other reasons why you shouldn't try to play without making mistakes.

    1. It's not possible to play perfectly

    2. Could make you play nervous, in fear, and with pressure

    3. Makes you not play like yourself

Luckily, Jojo also tells the struggling athletes how to fix it with three tools (and some random advice throughout the whole episode).

    1. Expect mistakes before the game

    2. Be "Playable"

    3. Don't predetermine what you're going to do

You want to play perfectly (avoiding mistakes to not get taken out of the game, the fear of being judged by a play you'll make, not wanting to disappoint yourself or someone else in your life) because you're trying to avoid negative emotions.

    P.S.

If you find the name of this episode to be scary and like it's freaking you out to ever play "imperfectly", then you really need to listen to this episode.
