  • SERIES RECAP: Chicago Cubs salvage series against Pirates with HUGE COMEBACK WIN
    Apr 13 2026

The Chicago Cubs salvaged the weekend series against the Pittsburgh Pirates, with plenty of standout moments and clutch performances on Sunday in the Cubs 7-6 victory.

Game 1 set the tone with strong pitching from Shota Imanaga but the Cubs offense failed to score a run. In Game 2, things got more intense as both teams battled back and forth. Big hits and momentum swings kept this one close, but the Cubs failed to manufacture a run extra innings to drop the series.

The series finale brought plenty of energy and despite trailing 5-0 early, their bullpen and offense pulled through. Dansby Swanson, Moises Ballesteros, Michael Busch had big hits en route to Carson Kelly walking it off in the 9th inning to salvage the series.

Even though the Cubs avoided the sweep, are you worried about the team as they head to Philadelphia tonight to begin a series against the Phillies. Can they bounce back on the road?
