Wolkenhimmel versucht verzweifelt, die Gefangene aus den Klauen des brutalen Streuners Schlitzer zu befreien. Doch dafür braucht er die Hilfe der Anführer aus den anderen Lagern. Großer Schatten, Windläufer, Donner und Strömender Fluss wollen Wolkenhimmel zunächst nicht unterstützen - denn Schlitzer stellt immer dreistere Forderungen.

Grauer Flug steht unter Schock. Er hat immer fest daran geglaubt, dass Wald- und Moorkatzen in Frieden zusammenleben können. Doch nun wird sein Bruder Wolkenhimmel tatsächlich den Moorkatzen den Krieg erklären? Auch der junge Kater Donner lehnt das skrupellose Verhalten von Wolkenhimmel ab und kehrt kurzentschlossen zu den Moorkatzen zurück. Grauer Flug ist sich nun sicher: Er muss Wolkenhimmel aufsuchen, um Schlimmeres zu verhindern. Doch was als Missverständnis zwischen den beiden Brüdern beginnt, endet in einer Katastrophe.
