You'd think that life would finally be dealing Mack Smith a kind hand. Or the fact that she's being constantly tailed by a string of mages, shifters, and faeries, all of whom are constantly demanding her attention. And that's without even bringing the temptation of Corrigan, Lord Alpha of the Brethren, into the equation.

Moteur. Ça tourne... Inaction ! Ivy Wilde, paresseuse sorcière de l'Ouest et addict de la Sieste, est toujours obligée de faire copain-copain avec le Saint Ordre des Lumières Magiques. Ce qui n'est pas si mal, hein, vu que ça lui donne un prétexte du tonnerre pour passer plus de temps avec Raphaël Winter, son pseudo-Némésis aux yeux saphir. Et quand il toque à sa porte en lui demandant d'aller jouer l'espionne sur le tournage de sa série préférée, Enchantement, elle saute sur l'occasion. Glander sur un plateau télé, c'est sûrement pas difficile.

Bon, soyons clairs : Ivy Wilde n'est pas une héroïne. C'est même la dernière personne que vous contacteriez si vous aviez besoin d'une aide magique, malgré ses talents. Si ça ne tenait qu'à elle, Ivy passerait ses journées affalée dans le canapé, devant la télé, paquets de chips en main, à papoter avec son familier félin jusqu'à ce que mort s'ensuive. Mais quand elle se retrouve victime d'une erreur d'identité, elle est embarquée malgré elle à la Branche Arcane, le département d'investigation de l'Ordre Hermétique du Crépuscule d'Or.
