A "Who Done It?" murder mystery with a twist in the end, this story line was thought up by David Paffrath who needed someone to write it for him. I thought the concept was sound and had merit - so we collaborated to make a really good, kick-ass story about a kid who grows up getting abused by his mother's suitors and then has to solve some really tough crimes of his own when he reaches manhood.

Matthew Snow is a fledgling reporter for the Boston Globe and finds himself assigned to interview a woman who might have a sizzling story to relate. Matt hardly thinks so until he becomes involved with Vanessa Keiling and her husband, Troy. Together they form a bond which brings out a story of love and intrigue.

Her antagonist, Palver Von Tubin, a well-versed wizard, who plans to totally destroy society, seems bent on perfecting his techniques, but is brought to heel by the machinations of the trio. The Vampire Underground is the fourth book in a set of five that I originally began in 1997. My son, James, asked me to write a book for him since I had written one for his sister. I said it could happen and began working on Journey to Mars. Much has passed under the bridge since this series began and I'm satisfied to finally have it completed...maybe.
