Claudia's loving the October weather and her many friends, both in school and in the BSC. But when she throws a party to bring her two groups of pals together, she creates more problems than she solves.

Karen's best friend, Hannie, just got a new kitten. Now all her friends have cats. And Karen has a great idea. She can start a club like her big sister, Kristy. It will be a Kittycat Club! What will the club do? Karen can't babysit like Kristy...but she can cat-sit! Will anyone want Karen as a cat-sitter? They'd better - running a club is hard work!

Mary Anne can't stop thinking about babies. First she starts baby-sitting for a pair of adorable baby twins. Then she and Dawn decide it would be great to have a baby brother or sister of their own. But Mary Anne learns that taking care of a baby is a big responsibility when she and Logan have to pretend to be parents to an egg "baby" for a class at school. Sammie, their egg, has to be watched every second, and Mary Anne and Logan barely have time to breathe. Taking care of a baby isn't all it's cracked up to be!

Dawn tries to give herself a new image by changing her hair, makeup, clothes, and personality, but then she worries about whether her friends and her penpal Lewis will like the new Dawn.

Naturally, Jessi is thrilled when she earns the lead role her in dance school's latest ballet. But someone in class wants her out of the show. First Jessi's toe shoes are stolen. Deciding that she wants to move back to California permanently, Dawn worries about what she will say to the rest of the baby-sitters, who do not understand when they hear the news secondhand.

Karen and her little brother Andrew are getting a new pet—goldfish! Karen names hers Crystal Light. Andrew's is called Goldfishie. Karen and Andrew love to watch their fish swim around and around.

It's fun to be a Baby-sitters' Little Sister! Karen thinks there's a ghost in her house! But she's never really seen the ghost of Old Ben Brewer -- until now. Karen and her stepsister Kristy have found out that Ben Brewer and his spooky friends are going to have a birthday party in her attic on Halloween night! It used to be fun having a ghost around. The baby-sitters are in double trouble when the sponsor for Kristy's softball team, a diaper company, wants to re-name the team "The Davis Diapers", and overbooking on the business end of things makes the club swear in a new member.

Jessi discovers that one of the girls in her dance class is anorexic, and she and her friends soon learn about the seriousness of the illness.

Hoping to provide a male role model for a new charge whose parents' divorce has him missing his father, Mary Anne invites Logan to accompany her baby-sitting jobs and has a lot of explaining to do when Mrs. Kuhn does not understand.

Claudia's not worried when she hears her newest baby-sitting charge, Betsy, is a great practical joker. After all, how much harm can one girl do? As it turns out - plenty! Claudia breaks her leg because of one of Betsy's mean jokes...and now she's talking about quitting the club. Baby-sitting might be too dangerous. The rest of the BSC decides that Betsy needs to be taught a lesson - and the joke war is on!

Haley Braddock has never given the BSC much of a hassle before. But now she's out of control! After Claudia catches Haley in a lie - and Haley gets grounded for it - this formerly quiet BSC charge turns against Claudia in a big way.

Mallory and Claudia are helping Stacey unpack from her move back to Stoneybrook when they find an antique trunk in the McGill's attic. Stacey doesn't want the dusty thing, so she gives the trunk to Mallory...who finds an old diary at the bottom of it. The diary belonged to Sophie, a girl who lived in Stacey's house in the 1890s. As Mallory reads deep into Sophie's diary, she discovers a mystery on their hands to solve, because Stacey's house isn't big enough for her, her mom...and a family of ghosts!

It's Karen's birthday! She can't wait for all those presents. Karen is even having two parties—one at Daddy's house and one at Mommy's. But what Karen really wants for her birthday is one party, with her whole family together. Will Karen's birthday wish come true?

Stacey quits the club, but suddenly realizes that her new "friends" are using her as a cover for their drinking, shoplifting, and other ideas of summer fun.

When Claudia's wacky Aunt Peaches moves to Stoneybrook, full of fun and expecting a baby, Claudia thinks she will have the time of her life, until one of Peaches's antics gets Claudia in trouble, and a fight ends in tragedy.
