It seems Phantoms, one of the most popular shows on the Independent Ghost Hunting Network, is interested in doing a location shoot at Ludington Asylum, which just happens to be located on a small island near Whisper Cove. Since childhood, Harper Harlow has been infatuated with the story of a crazy doctor gone rogue and the resulting investigation that found numerous missing patients (but no bodies) at the former institution. Producers want to feature Harper and Zander on their show, and Zander is happy to oblige despite Harper's reticence.

There's no better time to be in love - and newly engaged - than Valentine's Day. That's what Ivy Morgan believes anyway. She's happy, looking forward to spring, and eager to show her fiancé Jack Harker around Shadow Lake's infamous winter festival. Unfortunately for Ivy, things don't go as planned. While visiting the community barn, one of the girls prepping for the annual pageant falls ill and Ivy has a terrifying vision of the event before it happens. It turns out the girl has been poisoned, and in an effort to watch the remaining girls, Ivy signs up to be a mentor.

The newly minted couple are in a good place, so when Jared asks Whisper Cove's favorite ghost hunter to go to Harsens Island to visit an old friend and his family, Harper jumps at the chance. Josh Stoker and Jared have a lot to catch up on, including the hard financial times the Stoker family is struggling to deal with. In an effort to keep their business empire afloat, the Stokers have turned their ancestral family home into an inn, and this week they just happen to be hosting a murder mystery event.

Whisper Cove is stuck in a heat wave, although it's nothing compared to the fire stoking between Harper Harlow and Jared Monroe. They're happy and enjoying themselves...until a face from the past resurfaces. Jason Thurman and Harper had a brief fling in high school, and when he returns to town to open a restaurant he's hoping they can revisit their relationship as adults.

The Bounding Storm is racing toward adventure, and this time it’s something completely out of the ordinary. Rowan Gray still can’t wrap her mind around the fact that an old shipwreck – one that could make salvagers rich beyond their wildest dreams – is going to be The Bounding Storm’s main focus for a full week. It’s true, though, and the shift in demeanor on the boat is exciting and worrisome at the same time. Harper Harlow and Jared Monroe race to the scene to make sure nobody is trapped or in danger...and discover one heck of a secret. It seems, the house, which was owned by a solitary older woman who kept to herself, was being run as a brothel. Now, she’s dead, and there’s a bevy of married men on the hot seat for her murder.

Jack Harker says the honeymoon will never be over, but it’s back to reality for him and his wife Ivy. Unfortunately for them, that means murder is on the menu...and this newest body is dropped in Ivy’s nursery parking lot. Jack is a mess when he realizes a sniper took out a local woman. Ivy, although shocked because it happened right in front of her eyes, is also intrigued. When the duo starts digging, they find themselves drawn into an ugly underworld that’s happening right under their noses.

Rowan Gray is a bundle of nerves. She’s waiting for word on her father - a man who supposedly died 10 years before - and the only thing that can shift her focus is a fraught rescue at sea, one that forces The Bounding Storm to evacuate a group of oil rig workers during a tumultuous storm. Her father may be back in her life but things are hardly smooth sailing for Rowan Gray. He faked his death to get away from a group of people investigating psychic abilities - a group he is convinced is still out to get him - and he’s positive the group want his daughter for the same nefarious reasons. Rowan is simply happy to have him in her life. She gets to spend time with him and her uncle and plot for a future they might never have.
