The School for Wicked Witches

Ava Heartstraw has never even considered being wicked. But when she goes to take her entrance test for a witch academy, she doesn't get the reaction she's expecting -- and is the first kid in memory from the west to be sent to the School for Wicked Witches.

After making her escape from The School for Wicked Witches, Ava has realized that it might be the right place for her, after all. But her return isn't triumphant—if anything, she's more behind than ever. When things start to go very wrong at the school, Ava discovers she may be able to save the day...but only if she pairs up with Tinabella, her friend-turned-enemy. What's a young witch to do?

Ava hasn't found Tinabella to be the easiest roommate to get along with. She's sneaky. She's popular. And she bends the rules a lot when it comes to magic. Still, Ava never asked for Tinabella to be banished to a tower, trapped by a strange spell. And when the wickedest witch of them all attacks the School for Wicked Witches, trapping all the teachers within an enormous twister, Ava knows that it’s better to have Tinabella by her side than to keep her locked away.

Ava is getting a little tired of told when to use her magic... and when to leave it to the adults. Case in point: When a helpful curse is broken, her friend Henry goes physically from being a small boy to being a big giant. And, even worse, he's in the cafeteria at the time, and he's now stuck inside, too big for any of the doors. Ava wants to help—but the head of the School for Wicked Witches tells her and her friends to let the teachers figure it out.
