Jill Ramsower pens another amazing mafia romance novel, the fifth in “The Five Families” series and I loved everything about it, from her wonderful writing style to the fantastic characters and storylines to the perfectly cast narrators who bring it all to life from the pages to your ears. Each book in the series stands on its own, so if you are new to the series and start with this book, everything you need to know is in the descriptive details and you will never feel lost or like you are missing something. This book is Filip DeLuca and Camilla Genovese, both come Mafia crime families and have connections to characters from earlier books. Camilla is not involved in family business but she is still protected and Filip has been working under his brother, Matteo’s guidance, and wants to be more involved in the family business. Camilla did something she wanted to do for a while and joined the Lion’s Den, an exclusive member only sex club. The owner of the club, Dante Cabello, gave her the tour of the place and her heart sunk when she saw who was there, Filip, the brother of her cousin’s husband. Filip is a member of the club and friends with Dante, and when he first saw Camilla, his protective instinct kicked in, and he takes over for Dante to show her the ropes. He wanted to put an end to her membership but Camilla would not let him bully her out of something she really wanted and they came up with an agreement, he would be the only one she played with. The chemistry between these two is electric, but he is not a relationship type of guy and he pushes her to her limits and not in a good way, more like he is playing her. There is never a dull moment in this brilliantly plotted story, besides the relationship drama and the push and pull between them there are threats in the mafia world, the cartel are back in town, and then there is another threat closer to home and a twist you never saw coming. I loved how it all played out, including the steamy hot scenes and sexy times which are well written and well done. Jill Ramsower, thank you for another captivating story and the wild and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Troy Duran and Natalie Eaton are fabulously talented narrators and versatile voice artists. I love how they took each role and made it their own and did so with a complete understanding of the characters they were portraying, giving each a voice that was a perfect fit to that character’s persona, sounding believable and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Natalie Eaton played Camilla’s role with perfection, grasped the strength and her every emotion and had you feeling every single one, Troy Duran did the same for Filip, playing the perfect bossy alpha. Both were fabulous performing the roles of the secondary characters as well. Their voices complimented each other’s and the quality of the audio and performance was flawless. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhances an already fantastic story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

Jill Ramsower creates another heated and dangerous romance with Filip and Camilla! I can’t get enough of their tug and pull as they both try to deny what they really want. Add in the great narration by Troy and Natalie, and this book is gold!

Nothing like running into someone who knows you when you are trying to break the rules. Trying to branch out and find yourself in ways not everyone accepts and understands is not easy. Camille is taking a huge step in trying to find herself and finds her road is blocked very quickly by someone in the mix of her extended family, Filip is caught off guard by Camille's entrance to the club and takes it upon himself to keep her safe and help her explore things. The best plans of fake relationship style connections and a friendship is not the first thing to sprout.
I thoroughly enjoyed the banter between these two and how Camille reaches for everything in herself to prove to herself and Filip she can handle it all. I enjoyed the building tension and mystery of danger hiding in the corners. The narrators did a fantasic job bringing this story to life.

Camilla is ready to explore things that are kept behind closed doors. Ms. Eaton does a great job in bringing her to life as well as doing a good job with the male voices. This includes everything she feels and the emotions that can’t be contained. In having this story told from the characters point of view, we get a better understanding of those that come in and out of their lives. And what makes them uncomfortable or sets them aflame.

Filip will change how this story flows once he finds Camilla in a space he’s known to frequent. Mr. Duran has the perfect voice for this story. He may have a deep voice, but he does a decent job when doing a woman’s voice. You may also want to have a hand fan handy when he speaks. Since this is part of the author’s mafia romance series, having the right voice is important when you think of those that live in that world.

This story was the perfect combination. I love working out in my yard but when I don’t have a book to listen to, the time seems to go on forever. Between the story Ms. Ramsower created and the narrators that have brought those words to life, my job became so much more pleasurable. But then I’m presented with a twist and it almost had me stop in my tracks – didn’t want a distraction such as yardwork to see how things were going to change and then get resolved.

There are some series that I love to read and others I’ve come to prefer listening to. With this series, I want to do both. This current book, in the Five Families series, may be listed as a standalone but once you’ve finished with Camilla and Filip’s story you’re going to want to find out what you may be missing.

Things get unbelievable after that!!! Couldn’t get enough of these two explosive, volatile characters!!! The situations were shocking, danger-filled, and full of tension!!!
I freaking LOVED this story!!!!

This Audiobook was narrated by Troy Duran and Natalie Eaton who do an incredible job!!!!! They did an excellent job performing each of the characters in the story!!! They really brought this story to a higher level!!!
