If you have trigger warnings please read the warnings before you read this book. There are parts that can be dark and disturbing depending upon your perception. The start of this book is told from Reid's POV which wasn't told in the first book. Each book goes from the past to the present. In each book there are more and more things revealed that happened. Milo finds out how Reid feels about Raven. I couldn't believe what Milo did to Reid on purpose. Milo is still OTT and posessive. Milo realizes at some point he is the cause of Raven falling apart but he wants to fix it. Mia and Milo have a major incident. There is a cliff hanger at the end of the book. It's hard to put these books down. The male narrator does a fantastic job.

This is the second book I've read/listened to by Drethi Anis. Again, do NOT ignore the warning! Of course by now you've listened to book one and understand why.

This audiobook is actually two books. Desolate is included at the beginning of this audiobook and is a novella. It is book 1.5 in the series. Isolation is book 2.

Desolate Chapters 1 -3 are Reid's POS. Chapter 4 is half Milo's POV and is a scene from book one. If the narrator had changed the character's voice, it may have been easier to switch gears from one brother to another and been less confusing. I had to go back to the beginning of chapter 4 a couple times to get it straight. Reid's POV picked back up after that short segment and Desolate Chapter 10 picks up where book 1 left off.

I do NOT understand the behavior of Milo or Reid towards Raven in this novella. Reid is *almost* as bad. Yelling does not make a heart grow fonder. Unbelievable. Raven remains messed up.

Unfortunately, do not like the narrators voice for Asher in this section.

Going into Isolation, book two. The hero is still no hero. Sigh. I was so hopeful that Milo and Raven would be heading in the right direction for a sane relationship. It seemed like it was going to go there, but then shifted. Ugh. At least Milo and Raven acknowledged the rape in this book. It's not glossed over and the saves the book for me!!

I continue to enjoy the new to me narrators. At the beginning, the duet narration was awkward once again. It did get better though. These two put real emotions into the performances. I got lost in the audio. Well done!

I look forward to the next audiobook. I really want to like Milo and Raven!

Isolation by Drethi Anis is a dark romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Jill Cardoza and Jim Chapel. This is the second book in the Quarantine series.

The book does come with a warning: "This is a DARK romance, that contains triggers, including non-consent and dubious consent scenes, outbreak, and mental health issues. Some readers might find the subject matter offensive."

I am really liking how this series is set up. The first book was Raven and Milo's past where book two is present day and starts right where book one ended. I really enjoyed the added Novella Desolate that is part of the audiobook that gives Reid's points of view.

The best way I can describe the relationship between Raven and Milo is messy and toxic. Their story will take you on an emotional rollercoaster. I love getting both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brings the story to life.

I can't wait to dive into the final book in the series Essential to get the rest of their story.

Jill and Jim did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this series if you like dark romances, forbidden romances, or friends to lovers to enemies romances.

Raven continues to contradict herself , she expresses trauma responses to Milo but then defends him. Some find that Milo is a villain but I feel like Milo is the most misunderstood character in the book. He's done everything for everyone and gets torn down by everyone.

This story was powerful in written form but in Audible form, OMG!!! The story is so much more colorful with the spoken words. Great job!!!
