While she may be have refashioned herself onstage as the perfect diva, selling out concerts and topping the charts, offstage she’s haunted by her past and incapable of the kind of intimacy that could free her heart and mind. She an only see one way forward: revenge against the people who were responsible for what happened to her when she was a teenager.

Yet, as Caprice insinuates herself into Atlanta’s most elite circles—and into the lives of her former tormentors—she begins to unravel, putting herself and the few people she trusts at risk, including Jonovan, her childhood crush whose compassion and allure are almost too much for her to handle. When her father suggests she see a therapist, Dr. Marcella Spencer, Caprice finally begins to pick up the pieces and find her inner-strength.

But can she truly overcome a legacy of pain and suffering? Or will her thirst for vengeance drag her even further into the darkness?

love the story. But I have to admit that the main character got on my nerves a lot and I do mean a lot.

Great book

The narrator was trying too hard to enunciate and it annoyed me. I forced myself to listen. the story was fine though.

I feel like the story was good and had potential to be great but they ended it too soon and without much flare towards the end. There were parts that weren't developed well and plots that were not fully described that left me wondering what happened. ex. the story of her trauma wasn't fully described because she caprice didn't feel the need to go into it, she just summarized but no details provided. The last part between her and Sheree... I know the outcome but not what occurred. The purpose of reading a book is to envision it's happening before your eyes. So that was disappointing for me. Towards the end the book felt rushed, like Zane may not have felt where to take the characters next, but there was so much that could have been done. What i do appreciate about Zane is that she's always educating us about something and I love learning. The story was good. The voice actor was excellent! Overall it was good, just not great.

not her best, but good

Love Zane Hugh fan. Not a fan of the Narrator. She made it difficult to follow the story in some parts but I just re-listen to those parts.

Loved it 😀😀
