Absolutely loved the pirate lore and action in Compass Rose. The angst between the mains is palpable. Wasn’t a huge fan of the “and now use your imagination” tactic used for the hook up scenes, although they were tastefully done besides that. Maybe I’m just a dog 😏

I loved this book from the start. I cant believe it took me a while to read/listen to it. I guess I wasn't ready for it until now. I wont include any spoilers. It was the book I needed to hear. Anna Burke is a masterful story teller. I am so grateful for lesfic. Thanks for sharing your gift of writing with us all Anna Burke.

Overall the story was great. I wish there was a better explanation for Rose's ability. It was hinted that her lineage was more significant but it was never touched on. I also wish the narrator's voice was better able to flex between some of the female characters. At some points I couldn't distinguish between Rose or Miranda. But I must say still enjoyed it and it's take on how our planet could be if we don't take care of it. Not sure I'd want to be stuck on a ship the rest of my life.
