After a fateful hunting accident sends her on the run from the law, Robyn finds herself deep in the heart of Sherwood Forest. All she really wants to do is provide for her family and stay out of trouble, but when the damnable Sheriff of Nottingham levies the largest tax in the history of England, she's forced to take matters into her own hands. Relying on the help of her merry band of misfits and the sheriff’s intriguing - and off-limits - daughter, Marian, Robyn must find a way to pull off the biggest heist Sherwood has ever seen.

With both heart and freedom at stake, just how much is she willing to risk to ensure the safety of the ones she loves?

Nottingham is a delightful romp rife with boys bearing bows, transmen wielding quarterstaffs, noble ladies loving ladies, bawdy bisexual musicians, naughty nonbinary outlaws, and saucy sapphic nuns - in other words, Robyn Hood like you've never seen her before.

The narrator took me some time to get used to. Beginning was a little bit slow but overall I really enjoyed it!

Pretty good

I can't wait to see what other adventures these ladies and gentlemen can get up to. I really enjoyed this book and the spin on the classic was really refreshing.

Nice

Was engaged through out the whole book. The only way I could see it better is if more was done with the friendship and interest of the side characters. However I am not complaining.

Good listen

Super fun, a little spicy, and delightfully inclusive. Would recommend!

The reader is very talented. I’ve love many of her other performances. I don’t think it made sense to have an American do a British accent esp as the there would have been a cast difference between nobility, middle class (Sherif) and everyone else and a Brit reader would have given a more nuanced performance.

I really like the story. However, I wish that the part about the band of outlaws lead by Robyn Hood robbing from the usurping king and giving back to the poor and their impact on the peasants was a larger part of the story.

Great story, and…

I love Anna Burke’s retellings of classic fairytales. Her character’s always find their strength rather than constant damsel in distress. I was not a fan of the narration but able to get over it to listen. Romano was definitely trying to channel a bit of an Essex accent but It took a while to get into it since she’s clearly American.

Delightful retelling
