Everyone has secrets. Especially those who live in the shadows.

Cristian Slava doesn't fear much. After he was betrayed by the man he called an uncle, leaving upstate New York for the Carpathian Mountains of his childhood is more a matter of practicality than fear. With him is Atlas Kinkaid, a former marine turned fierce bodyguard...and fierce lover, albeit a hell of a complicated one.

Cristian's cunning is tested by the politics and intrigue of the vampire families of Romania, and the warm welcome he and Atlas were assured of quickly turns to ash as they race to unravel the mystery of an old friend's disappearance. Searching for the missing vampire draws them into a web of betrayal and half-truths that reaches further than Cristian ever could have imagined, and they uncover a string of grisly murders that bear a striking similarity to the attack that changed Atlas's life forever.

Stalked by the past and uncertain of the future, Cristian learns he does have something to fear after all....

Losing the man he loves.

Contains mature themes.

Great book and the story in this series is enjoyable. The books are Read by Jon Solo. He is not a Narrator. He ruins the books for me.

Great book

I like that the first book is done from Atlas' point of view and this one is done through Cristian's. The narrator was amazing, and the twists were well done.

Great continuation

Cristian and Atlas' adventure continues with out any slowing down of the action. Their connection also continues to evolve under the pressure of imminent danger.

I like the twists and turns this story takes and the romance between Atlas and Cristian is a nice blend of physical attraction and personal connection. The narration is performed well, and the story wraps up one adventure that sets the stage for the next book.

Good story. Good narration.

This is the first paranormal M/M romance series I've read. I've read het paranormal romance but the non romance part of these books are FAR FAR better! It is quite lite on the romance parts (I'm reading the third book next so maybe that changes) in comparison to other M/M romance books I've read. BUT, I like this series! So far it's completely understandable why the sexy bits are low. However, the slow simmer that builds throughout (if you're paying attention) results in what is almost a real world relationship building. OK, no, not real world from the paranormal bits, but from the perspective of it taking time, of being conflicted because of (whatever), because of the employer/ employee dynamic. This series(the first I've read by this author) is less romance and more unraveling a mystery, but that's not a bad thing - just somewhat unexpected for me.

Of course John Solo is a favorite narrator, and he is great in this series! Honestly I probably got the first book because John narrated it. But now I'm invested in the story.

Not a romantic as others I've read but still really good

Second in series is a continuation of Atlas and Christian and is good. My only criticism is the narrators choice for Christian’s voice.

This ones good too
