Good mystery with action and adventure satire,dry humour,exaggerated drama,witty banter, and crotchety old men along with dead body and cat fighting women and corruption. The second book was terrible. Full of narcissism characters and not much else. My husband and I are highly disappointed in book 2 of this series and will not be purchasing any others because we do not enjoy being agitated and grinding my teeth and hoping it would get better. Truthfully I am disappointed in this. I like Ann Charles other books, but this one just seems like a random mishmash and really seems to have no point or message. The elder gentlemen are over the top and I can't see anyone from that generation ever talking like these guys.

I was hoping for something similar to the 2 Deadwood series. This book had a bit too much romantic desires and just not as interesting. won't be wasting $$ on another book in this series.
