Oil and water. Angels and Demons. Some things shouldn’t mix. But when a fallen angel needs the key back to heaven, her only hope may be a crow-shifting demon. Attraction ignites between sworn enemies in the latest spicy paranormal romance from instant New York Times bestselling author, Aurora Ascher

A demon with a forgotten past . . .

Raum is the quiet one who rarely smiles. He’s felt numb since Heaven erased his memory as punishment for crimes he can’t recall. His only relief comes from his penchant for theft and his unusual connection with animals. Until, that is, he crosses paths with a beautiful angel . . .

An angel searching for redemption . . .

A loyal servant of Heaven, Sunshine is fighting to regain her rank and redeem herself for her shameful past. Tasked with retrieving a grimoire from Hell, she binds Raum into her service with an unbreakable contract. He must help her navigate the underworld—or lose everything he holds dear. But her plan backfires when she finds herself drawn to him, like a moth to a flame . . .

A forbidden desire . . .

The rivalry between demons and angels is ancient, deep, and …obvious. Yet it can’t extinguish their scorching attraction. But when hints of Raum’s past finally come to light, a web of deception and betrayal is revealed that changes everything . . .

Guardian Demon by Aurora Ascher — my first time reading both this author and this series, and it absolutely did not disappoint. Even though it’s book 4, it can totally be read as a standalone (though now I have to go back and read them all!).

Raum and Sunshine are the perfect enemies-to-lovers duo — I mean, hello, one’s a demon and the other’s an angel. The banter, the tension, the emotion — all of it had me hooked. But what truly stood out to me was the deeper message woven through the story: no matter who you are, where you come from, or what you’ve been labeled as, it doesn’t define your soul.

An angel can be cruel. A demon can be kind. And sometimes, you’re a little bit naughty and a little bit angel. ✨

Raum and Sunshine embodied that beautifully. They refused to let others dictate their paths — their choices, their growth, and their love were entirely their own. And I adored watching them evolve, both individually and as a couple.

Also, he shifts into a crow and hoards shiny things. And that line — “I want to ruin you.” Yes. Please. 😏

This is the fourth book in the hellbent series and we follow Raum and sunshine with their forbidden romance and a conflict of doing the right thing or doing the thing that looks wrong, but is right. Also, lots of space with a shape shifting demon that has a half demon form.

I love the fact that Roman finally found his sunshine the missing piece. This book was different from the others, but yet it’s title all the books together. I can’t wait for the next one.

Absolutely phenomenal story. Secrets revealed. Emotional growth. Explanations for other characters history. Absolutely great story.

Best of the series

The first 3 hours I started to get worried about how long the listen would be and wondered if it would be truly worth it. Then it kicked in and the rest of it was really really good. At this point, the characters are well developed. All of the demon brothers have there quirks. I liked hearing the angel side of things. The hypocrisies of the system they adhere to. A few twists were fun. Best love story so far. I love the dog shelter subplot - close to my heart.

My fav of the series so far.
