When my dad asked me to intern for his best friend, I knew I should've said no.
I had my own plans for the summer. Ones that didn't include revisiting my childhood crush.
Sleeping with the boss? Probably not what my dad had in mind when he asked for my help.
But from the moment I step foot in the office, I can think of little else. I still want Jonathan.
Am I willing to gamble my relationship with my dad and my heart?
Contains mature themes.

I love an age gap romance. Add in some forbidden? Sure. But her dad’s best friend? Like forever best friends since high school? Wow. Not one I’ve read before. But I admit, I definitely enjoyed it.
The narrator’s did an excellent job bringing Jonathan and Sumner’s forbidden romance to life.
What I liked most was Sumner’s evolution to stop doing everything for everyone else and instead start speaking her own mind. And guess who helped there? Yep. Dad’s best friend Jonathan who Sumner has crushed on forever. Now she is a summer intern at his company! Oh oh.
Jonathan is rich. Successful. But bored. When Sumner asks him the definition of success, he isn’t sure. Until he finally stops denying his attraction to her and realizes its relationships. Not stuff. Things. Possessions.
Now is there a blow up when Sumner’s dad is finally told about them? Oh yes. Definitely fireworks. It takes time, months, for him to even speak to Sumner, let alone his former best friend Jonathan. I enjoyed this part of the book the most, wondering HOW dad would finally come around.
I’m looking forward to reading other books in this series for sure.
