An archeologist employed by the crime lord Chanzig to locate alien artifacts discovers there’s no honor among thieves.

Dak Korasa is wounded by his team and left for dead on a hostile jungle world. On the verge of succumbing, he’s saved by a sluglike organism created by an otherworldly entity. This parasite, or chok’tal, has one purpose: to alter its host’s DNA, turning him into a super-soldier known as a Purifier who is then expected to serve in the “Glorious Game.” Imbued with superhuman strength, speed, and endurance, Dak must kill to earn enough points to win the mysterious game—or the chok’tal will kill him.

The trouble is, neither Dak nor the parasite knows how to reach the final level. Dak’s only guidance comes in the form of the chok’tal’s former host, elite soldier Jekra Modri. With his life on a ticking timer, Dak reluctantly engages in trials of combat, acquiring ever deadlier skills in a quest to free himself of the being mutating his body. But standing in his way is the alien warrior Akasha, who has sworn to destroy all the chok’tal—and Chanzig himself, who seeks to harness the chok’tal’s power for unimaginable horrors.

The Purifier series contains copious amounts of blood, violence, and profanity. It is not recommended for the faint of heart.

The story has potential. Regrettably the MC is an absolute idiot. Makes stupid choices, he's a coward, and he constantly wines.

Very Stupid MC

Okay so i think this is actually a 4 star but i just don't give less than 5 unless is a very bad story.
i ger it with this type of story you have to make the MC a good guy but it was really frustrating that the mc kept giving the people trying to kill him mercy just for them to try to kill him again at the first chance they have also around chapter 20 i started skipping chapters and i didn't lose anything by doing so.

Good one

Kill Streak is one of the best stories I’ve read this year!

Seriously guys. Kill Streak reads like fresh sci-fi LitRPG I didn’t realize I’d love so much. The basic premise is an innocent archeologist gets betrayed and before he dies, discovers an alien and after melding in return for health, wakes up to a game like reality where you kill to survive. Every chapter improves in ways I didn’t see coming, hooking me from page one and rewarding me with wonder and excitement several times over.

LitRPG is hungry for in depth space opera focused on a small scale. By that, I mean the world of the Cuttthroat Cosmos is vast, and you’ll get just the right amount of introduction at the start. The narrative style reminds me a little of Oh Great, I reincarnated as a Farmer, and has a handful of laugh out loud moments. Our poor archeologist was simply trying to finish his contract with the worst guy in the universe, when, blammo, aliens and a game system forcing him to kill to survive gets in the way of his happily ever after.

Curator Omega’s encyclopedic memory of the universe and races adds a bit of salt n peppa to the journey of our MC to find a way out of this bad deal. This helps when the MC seems to dollop more than he can chew. The universe and interweaving threat issues added an intelligent plot told in a way that kept me engaged and excited for the next step. Even preparing you to be surprised won’t ruin anything. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.

The game system mechanic worked really well. Better than I thought after reading mostly Fantasy LitRPG. I loved the way he had to grow and strategize advancements. It’s a clever, unique system with plenty of room to grow in the coming books. The biological weakness helps keep the MC from being too overpowered, and the action is intense!

Scott does an amazing job on the narration, voicing several characters with unique accents and keeping the story lively throughout.

Kill Streak is a breakout hit in my book! Let’s get the next one quickly!

Riveting story executed exceptionally!

I agree with other reviews about how painfully stupid the MC is in the beginning. But by the end of the book, I feel like it kind of makes sense (once you know the full extent of his backstory). He also gets smarter, at least marginally.

The book was fairly enjoyable by the end, and the next one could have potential, but I don't think I'll be continuing, as it's just not my kind of LitRPG.

Better than Chrysalis, on par with Veridian Gate Online I think, but not quite as good as DCC, Ripple System, or Completionist Chronicles.
